You completely forgot the Tarkatan Xenomorph from Mortal Kombat X. All 3 forms of them. They got giant arm blades and can slice themselves to spray acid all over their enemies.

I'm pretty sure all parts of Superman would be too durable for the face hugger to implant a chest burster. The best it could hope for is to drop one off in the stomach and even then, if it matured, it wouldn't be able to break out.
I wonder what would happen if the host of a xenomorph was also an active host of a symbiote from marvel?
digunder14 I am pretty sure the symbiote would either attempt to kill the face hugger or the embryo. It would protect its host and I doubt it is compatible with a xenomorph and it's physiology. If it can't kill either the symbiote would probably attempt to find a new host while killing the host and embryo since it is a threat.

it certainly would be the Symbiote in control, Xenomorphs despite anything are more or less animals, so they likely lack the will to begin with to resist a Symbiote.
I doubt the xenomorph would get dna from the symbiote because the symbiote controls it's host interactions meaning that the symbiote is only present where it wants to be. It is still uncertain whether a symbiote would be compatible with a xenomorph. In comics they probably would allow it since writers often tend to do things based on coolness over logic.Keep in mind also that the symbiote is actually a true example of a symbiotic
parasitic organism while the xenomorph is more like a bot fly. Being a parasite that is also sapient means it's ideas of what makes a quality host is likely different that the way most think. While a xenomorph is unquestionably good at what it does that doesn't mean it is compatible or desire able as a host. If it's nervous system doesn't have the requisite chemistry for the symbiote to interact with and feed on that is a disqualifier. Just because the xenomorph is strong doesn't make it desire able and I would think a symbiote being largely like an exoskeleton would prefer endoskeleton based life not to mention it can turn a mouse into a killing machine so is less likely to choose hosts on strength alone.

Probably the longest but certainly one of the better videos I've seen discussing all the different types of Xenomorphs, even if it's not a complete list the fact that you went through and gave a short description was pleasing, ESPECIALLY about the Ovomorph (eggs) and the alternate way Xeno's produce. Additionally I'm firmly in the camp that believes that Drones and Warriors molt eventually into Praetorians for the regular queens and that the crusher witnessed in Colonial Marines was a praetorian variant of the Dog/Runner Xenomorph

the newborn was able to kill the queen because queen had inherited empathy and kindred affection from Ripley, while baby had inherited independant thought and completely blindsided unsuspecting queen. it had virtually nothing to do with "power levels", although that particular queen was part human and had a softer exoskeleton. Case in point: you need a much larger hole in the side if a ship to evacuate a hard-shelled xeno.
I'm loving the alien vids but are there variations of aliens that can move around? Like, can certain aliens move through space or do they kinda just plant eggs on a planet and wait for a spaceship to pass through in order to infect the passengers on board.
I think they just stow away or hijack enemy spaceships (engineers, humans, predators) and are transported that way.

I've always found it baffling that Ripley's Bosses found it hard to believe her stories of Alien life forms with acidic blood,when the events of A v P 1 &2 were supposed to be prequels to ALIEN and ALIENS and the others.Continuity people!Lets learn that word,shall we??
Sammy Lane AVP isn't canon to the Alien universe.
AVP films aren't considered canon in the Alien franchise. They were just another example of Paul W. S. Anderson ignoring decades of the established canon and continuity to rewrite everything into an ascended form of bad fanfiction (just like he does with every franchise that has the misfortune of being given to him to adapt to film). The source material for AVP was the various comic runs over the decades. Those all take place in the future. In mainstream Alien canon continuity, humans do not encounter Xenos until well after we are a space faring species.
DarkKuno Predators and Xenomorphs have coexisted perfectly in comics long before the AvP movies and its continuity makes much more sense with the lore established in the first two Alien movies than the new cycle introduced in Prometheus (and espicially Covenant).
Anyway, the first one is better than more than half of the Alien movies, so I dont see what you're complaining about.

Prometheus attempted to completely rewrite and invalidate the entirety of Xeno biology canon from all the previous films and comics over the past 30-40 years. I'm quite glad he didn't include it since it really doesn't fit in the Alien franchise at all.

The alien toys were fantastically imagined, pretty big, detailed, colorful, and very sturdily made. They were the only action figures growing up i cared to colllect past young childhood (I was a he-man, transformers, voltron kid mostly). Even in late elementary I really thought they were neat and very well made. Each one did something unique too, and they all provoked my imagination, which was rare for an out and out non mechanical toy instead of a science "toy".
The snake alien, flying alien, gorilla alien, mantis alien, super face hugger, a very detailed queen. That whole series.

As an FYI, if you read the Aliens vs Predator books, there is several dinosaur aliens, as the second book takes place on a planet, where they have seeded the planet with cloned high end predators and high defense prey from Earth (and well, they stupidly grabbed some aliens as well.)

Danny Gonzalez The Deacon and the different xenomorphs that we know now are just distant relatives. The black pathogen (aka black goo) reacts differently to different hosts, ecosystem, etc. and as time moved on, the branch of variety of Aliens came to live. Also consider what David has done who has been experimenting with the pathogen and makes us believe he is the cause of the perfected xenomorph we know now (which are in the original alien movies)

Xenomorphs come in different shapes and sizes when they get birth from different species besides humans. For example, a Runner, or I call it "Redhead" gives birth from a dog or a cattle from Alien 3.
sacrament was my favourite alien dark horse comic. it had a unique art style and story but labyrinth was great.
It's one thing them having acid for blood but the fact it's pressurised makes it all the more daunting.
Rob you really should do Superman/Batman VS Aliens! Those comics are the bomb!
Great video Rob, and certainly the most extensive catalogue of xenomorphs on CZcams. The only ones that I think are missing (I could be mistaken!) Are some of the castes that appear in the Aliens vs Predator extinction games, namely the 'carrier' and ' ravager' castes. Again, these may be non-canon, I'm not too sure.

They had some cool ones in the 90's toyline. The Gorilla Alien had massive arms that had a great grabbing arms feature AND could squirt water. The Scorpion Alien had an explodey upper torso. Wasn't crazy about the Bull Alien tho.
Missed quite a few Xeno's, like the Spitters in Colonial Marines, Royal Facehugger from Alien 3, Those blind Xeno's that use noise to determine the location of their prey, also from Colonial Marines
It would have been cool to mention the Alien from MKX just for fun, but either way it was another great video!

Actually, the original script never said anything about humans morphing into eggs. The other guy who wrote the script along with R Scott was pretty clear that the humans were food for the eggs.
back in the old aliens rpg from the 90's, facehuggers didn't even require a living host. they could reproduce with a corpse just as easily as a living host.
Nice to hear the ‘egg morphing’ given a mention. I think this concept is very interesting. Basically, no matter what happens you can’t stop then multiplying. The increase of their numbers and their threat is inevitable. That’s quite terrifying.
There are some great mini series of comics in this universe. Labyrinth, Berserker, and of course, Pig. (Everyone loves a story about a lone pig vs an entire hive)

You missed the Ox Xenomorph from Aliens 3 movie book. The prison uses these oxen to move heavy stuff like a delivery of supplies in a huge crate. I think they stated they were native to the prison planet. There is a fantastic action filled l part of the book where the alien ox thing smashes through the heaviest doors they can hide behind.
The mini comic book that came with the mid 90's Hicks action figure is about a cattle ranch on Earth that has aliens come and we get to fight crazy cattle Xenomorphs.

You kinda forgot the Raven and Boilers from Aliens:Colonial Marines game the Raven is probably a mutation of a warrior Xenomorph the Raven is a rouge Xenomorph that is as tall as the Pretoreans or even larger. The Ravens features are like a normal Xenomorph warrior but with the addition of more spiked dorsal tubes, a row of spikes on it's head, 2 spikes protruding from it's lower jaw, more human like teeth, and a supposed battle scar that shows it's nasal cavity and it's left eye socket. The Raven due to it's sheer size can't fit into vents akin to warriors and drones, but it makes up for this due to it's sheer strength and exo-skeleton. It's exo-skeleton is so strong that the player has to get into a power loader to kill it like how Ripley did in Alien to the Queen. It's so strong that it can break open doors that have been weld shut, and push away debris like it was nothing.
Boilers are warriors that due to their age their exo-skeleton has been eaten away by it's acidic blood. If not already dead the Boilers will walk around listening for any signs of life other than other Xenomorphs. If a living creature were to make noises louder than a slow walk the Boiler would run up to said living creature and start to screech and glow while shaking. Up to about 5-10 seconds after they have stood still and started to screech and glow the Boiler will blow up launching their acidic blood in about a 1 meter radius killing the creature that disturbed them and themselves in the process. The boilers appearance is strikingly similar to humans that have caught the Bubonic plague meaning the Boilers have gained large pustules on their body filled with their acidic blood.

Just want to make a correction for your video. The duration of the larvae gestation is not 'short' it actually varies greatly. In Outbreak they directly address this and noted that sometimes a host could go quite some time before the larvae matures while at other times it was very fast. The conclusion was that they have some kind of connection to the Queen and the maturation process was driven by the needs of the hive. Low population triggered short gestation but a high population caused some larvae to only hatch once they had moved away from the hive as this would naturally lead to the hive territory expanding and reduce the food shortages caused by overpopulation.
