Experience the Kittitian culture in the Adult version of parade day where many join troops filling the road to capacity with revelers and spectators. Business and groups all sponsor troops and vie to become the best troupe in the carnival. At various points along the route there are judging stations and the troops are assessed on a variety of criteria. Young and old participate and this tradition supports our passing along the culture to the younger generation.
    Folklore based on a melting pot of cultures, provide viewers with clowns, moko-jumbies, masquerades, bulls and troops with themes from global warming to this year's returning jab jab. The calypsonians and various kings and queens from the various pageants or shows all make there presence known. The local live bands all strive to play their best tunes and have the largest troops and followers earning the coveted bragging rights for best band in town.
    Featured in this video you see Masquerade, clowns, acrobats and the legendary Bull which originated from an incident in 1917 on Belmont estate . The story of the Bull is that a slave plantation owner had a prized bull which fell ill and upon revival terrorized the nearby villagers this is what is depicted in the dance. Mansion bull was the most feared. Moko-Jumbies with its origin from West Africa, is a person on stilts. Masquerades originated from our Amerindian ancestors (Caribs & Arawak).
