This week I do the full service on our John Deere mower so it is ready for mowing this spring. Follow me on Instagram - / life_of_a_camp_ranger TikTok - / lifeofacampranger
also have a z930m. i'd recommend giving amsoil 15w50 a try for a couple oil changes and see what consumption looks like. also on the hydros there are 2 drain bolts on each drive motor, they hold about a quart of old hyd oil per each motor left.
That’s a good idea it should last longer than 5w30 or 10w30. I have used 15w50 in an old mower but that was a few years ago. I had no idea those drain bolts were there! Thanks for the tips!
@leonardomigot4040 The reason for using the 15w50 is to reduce how much oil the engine burns between oil changes. It is normal for them to burn some oil but if its an excessive amount using the heavier oil will decries that.
As far as I know if you’re not having excessive oil burning your should be okay to keep running the same oil. I have switched to a thicker oil on older machine to help with burning oil but I would check with your local dealer because they may recommend an additive. My best advice is check the oil daily and change it every 100 hours.

It's still righty tighty lefty loosy for the blades? I thought it would be the opposite...
Very good tutorial
Thank you.
Awesome Video. Always good to keep up on the lube and fluids.
It is very important, cuts down on down time especially during the busy season.
what kind of oil is recommended for the engine after 2,000 hours?

If it’s consuming an excessive amount of oil you might try a 15w50 oil.
Did I miss turning the drive wheels and running forward and reverse for a few cycles?
Nope you didn’t miss it, for some reason I didn’t have the footage and forgot to mention it in my outro.
