- Solving the logistic equation. What does the fox say? Here I solve a differential equation using separation of variables and partial fractions and integrals. It models the population of bunnies but with a limited factor. It gives a surprisingly good model approximation of populations like in Belgium. Enjoy this calculus adventure

Dear Dr Peyam (the new Ramanujan?), I am writing to you from Paris (France). I am an old retired physicist, fond of mathematics, and I really appreciate your videos and your good humor. Congratulations on your excellent work. Cordially.
Au fait, il parle couramment le français
En effet :)
Dr. Peyam, you were my GSI for Math 110 (around 2010?) at Cal.
So glad to see you and I wish you all the best for your future endeavors.
Awwwww thank you so much!!! Hope all is well :3
In 3:30 you can do a really cool trick which is adding y in the denominator in the LHS while also adding Ce^(t/10) in the denominator but in the RHS to easily isolate the y, this is because if (a/b) = (c/d) then a/(a+b) = c/(c+d).
If someone is curious to see why, just take the reciprocal on both sides and add 1 to both sides but as (a/a) in the LHS and as (c/c) in the RHS, then just take the reciprocal again.
Classic solution, clearly presented, rocking a cool shirt
Awesome!
... Bonjour Dr. Peyam, Merci pour une explication très claire de l'équation logistique qui reste toujours un peu un obstacle mathématique pour moi! Merci et bonne journée, Jan-W
you never disappoint me
You can use the logistic equation modelling the growth of a market in the economy as well.
Hey, the new C is not an arbitrary real number because it can't be 0. So you have a constant C from the open disconnected set (..., 0) U (0, ...) ! :D
What about the discreet version (the map) with chaotic behaviour at some parameter region? Is there a continuous analog with chaotic behaviour? Is here some kind of Feigenbaum tree? Sharkovsky order?
I just think about the song ☠️
very nice🥰🥰🥰
Would a rabbit-fox be a Rabbox? Or a Fobbit?
I grew up in London. I know what the fox says. It's "AAAAAAARRRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!!"

I've never mentioned, but in the begening, around 3 yrs ago, you being a lefty was extremely uncomfortable for me. NGL !!
😮😮
@@drpeyam but now
you are just awesome
Awwwwww
Mind blown. Been following the channel for years and I never even thought about that. Now that I do, I guess lefties perform better on a blackboard. I often find myself frustrated when eg. Michael Penn (a righty) is covering up the left column of the blackboard. :D
Population of Belgium? You couldn’t have chosen an easier example I guess 😊
