As a developing fakemon artist, it's always important to look back at your previous work and think "This needs a redo". Wherever needed, of course.
Yeah,I just drew a cactus pokemon but I’ll do an evo first then try and redo it
I agree I've started going back and redoing my fakemon from over 10 years cus I sorta started making them when I was 5 so a lot of Pokemon needed redos

Ron has become so incredibly good at designing Pokémon. He was always good conceptually I think, but his art style and just technical skill have both massively improved.
That’s such a throwback. The creating Pokémon from walks videos were literally what got me into the franchise. If I hadn’t been bored one night scrolling through CZcams, one of the biggest aspects of how I spend my free time would be completely missing. It’s crazy to me that was so long ago, too.
So cool to see this become a series. It's awesome to see how far you've come as a fakemon creator, and getting to hear what you've learned as you've grown as an artist. Very inspiring!

I thought I loved the old Dolflow but the new one is somehow even cuter even though it barely changed it is really cool to see how small changes can make such a big difference.
Fantastic updates to your work man! It must be so rewarding; the growth is clearly visible not in the art, but how you go over the previous flaws. Proud of ya mate!!!
It's nice to see a model on how to review past work in a healthy, constructive way. I think a lot of creatives (e.g., writers, artists, etc.) can easily fall into a trap of being frustrated or embarassed by our former works. Instead, you reflect on your past designs with curiousity! Love this!!

Surprisingly I think the knees are actually one of the most defining parts of an elephant, up there with the trunk and ears, I feel like your original design did need re doing but I think it would have been great if you somehow made a way for it to work whislt retaining those knees
Eleafant is still my favorite of the three, but the glow up of the others also look great
I kinda like how the originals were more developed then normal starters. It made sense in the reigon because it's supposed to be the strongest one

if it servers to consolate you, I never thought those where extremly good designs xD! One exercise I aways did watching was "did I like this idea? what could I do to make it better? what would he do better if he was making it now?"
but for real now, I was maratoning your vids on backward back then when I met your channel (got to know you thro Subjectively and was adicted to fakemon design videos), and was noticable how the quality of both your designs and drawings gave a sudden jump and improved so much in a very short time somewhere in the middle of it. It is awsome to see how far you got with something you love doing

Yay! A redesign sequel! (No Leaflat to go with Leaflutter, but hey there's always next time.) I have heard you stay your starter proportions are off a few times, so I expected those tweaks. The Poilover line though? That was a fun surprise! Awesome job!
Here's an idea: What if you design fakemon based on your viewer's descriptions? I'll start.
Glowfly is a fakemon based on fireflies/lightning bugs. It's northern form is bug/electric while the southern form is bug/fire. It evolves into Embershock using a fire or thunder stone based on the form.

personally id love for you to keep redesigning your old fakemon because your art is so much better now and i think your old fakemon deserve a makeover
Collectic = Much better, the legs have a weird line that makes it look partly split in the middle that one stripe beneath the wing confuses me.
Inulover = The wing marking could be tweaked, I almost want to make it a stripe that fallows the elbow curve, but its pretty solid as is.
Overall I love them and how you have improved.
The new designs are incredible and really shows how much you’ve grown as an artist!! Now you should redesign the rest of the starters lines

I love it how Dolflows arms/fins changed and now they look as if they were literal legs to walk on land, as it is a semi-water Pokémon, as all the water starters.
These are massive improvements Ron, you’ve most definitely honed your skills designing official looking Fakemon over the years.
The starters look incredible (I especially love the new Eleafant, my favourite out of the three) I want them to be real yesterday, and Inluver is leagues better than it’s original design.
I love how Dolflow barely changes, it was my favorite back then and now its even smoler and cuter. Amazing!

It honestly gets me pumped to draw - whether I'm drawing fakemon/pkmn or not ! I love every single one of your newer designs, so much thought is put into them yet kept on the simpler side to get the point (& shapes) across louder, how every design-pokemon or not-SHOULD be in my opinion !!! It’s so cool seeing you grow and adapt and learn, I haven’t been watching your most recent videos but I do have to say that I love how you spread out your shapes to more organic ones than the more poly-style at the beginning! I love the Smokalf redesign! Oxinerate was always my favorite of your starter trio, but Smokalf always looked too much like a regular calf (in my opinion). All the changes made here help it look like a pokemon and awesome first partner

I know it would be a pain to do, and take a long time, but redesigning the Asone Pokédex with the knowledge you have gained about Fakemon would be cool to see. We could see how far you have come from when you started.

My gosh, I love the thought that went into Smokalf's new design, especially the golden shiny!
Your art never disappoints. But one thing I did notice is that whenever you make a Pokédex entry, it describes everything about the Pokémon, or at least a lot about it, but real Pokédex entry’s only describe one or two things about it, or reveal one thing or tell one story not all of that at once. Making your Pokédex entry’s shorter might make them seem more real. Other than that your art is amazing. Keep making art!
Man I remember watching the original videos when they came out and thinking they were all the coolest designs I'd ever seen-

The only issue I have with Invulover is that if it somehow became really good in competitive and you have your Invulover friend that you’ve owned for years but it’s immune to the wrong condition so that it isn’t good in competitive which means you have to get a new one and you can’t battle with your Invulover friend :(
Maybe you can change the condition it’s immune to?
They all look so much better, but dolflow is my favorite. It's soo cute!
Invulover should change it's Normal typing to a type depending on the berry it ate when it evolved.
Aspear- Ice
Cheri- Electric
Chesto- Psychic
Pecha- Poison
Rawst- Fire
There's also the berries that reduce damage if the holder is hit by a certain Type of attack as well that this could work with as well. If it doesn't have one of these berries when it reaches it's evolution level then it'll have the Normal typing.

i much prefer the old version of smokealf. the right looks more like a modern pokemon though, which is not something i always find desireable^^
i like both elephant designs, the dolphin much improved.
I love the redesigns, only slight criticism of the smokalf redesign is it's looking less like a cow to me than the original, i think its the nose and mouth shape that's doing it.
I prefer the original Eleafant. The redesing looks more like a baloon animal than a than a plant-rock-elephant.

I love elefants design but my slight critique is choosing a pose that shows off the tail without the ears covering it as much because it would help with the silhouette better.

I’ve learned to no longer hate my old art but rather appreciate it because if I hadn’t made it then I wouldn’t have gotten to the place I am now. I no longer cringe when I see my old art, I get excited because of how much I’ve improved as an artist.
