- One of the best disco songs EVER! i still can't figure out why this song never even made the top 10 on the pop chart in 1979. I probably would pick this as one of the all-time greatest disco songs!
- Hudba
Bring back Disco. It made us feel life was beautiful on the dance floor. It elevated the human spirit. Don’t feel that in today’s music.
Ain't that the truth???
Disco (old n nu n high NRG n electro funk) has been once again aging in the urban underground culture since early Y2Ks and it's that darn gate keeping dominant mainstream culture to that keeps it bay :-(
I so agree with you, can close my eyes and I see all my friends rushing to the dance floor soon as we heard the " bells" knowing it's the start to this incredible song, and as we all passed around the " poppers" boy did we have the most amazing time! Hollywood in Austin was one of the best 🌈 bars around! My God I miss those days! Long live Disco! and rest in glory Bonnie Pointer and ty 🙏👏for recording this classic that will be around long after I am gone..❤🌈❤
Great song!! Lots of memories!!
in all seriousness DISCO HAS NEVER REALLY LEFT just take a listen to some of the songs from the 80's 90's and even the year 2000 and beyond there is a hidden disco song here and there and everywhere very clever
At work on my Friday thinking about my husband and about to send this beautiful song to him❤❤❤
What a Wonderful Woman. So Talented. Taken too soon.😇😇😇
I remember this was playing at FACES night club. I was sneaking in at 15 to dance dance and dance and watch the drag shows. It is one of the greatest nightclubs. You would see people dressed in everything you could ever imagine dancing the night away some super gay DISCO BOYS. 80's RULED Coke was everywhere. 😂 Miss those days.
The rhythm of this one is unlike most disco songs. This will keep you alive and full of energy for a long time.
Her #11 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 from late 1979
May you rest in paradise with our HEAVENLY FATHER.
Always loved the Pointer Sisters, so talented. Only Ruth is still with us.
Great things came out of 1979, this song, and, ME!
Omg!!!! I can just see myself, rushing to the dance floor, dancing my ass off to this great song!! 1979, The Hollywood Bar,🌈👍 Austin, Texas!! 👏Damn what I would not give just for one more dance at that club, to look around to see my baby dancing, as well as friends no longer here🕊❤..Lord, least I have the ability to listen to it and other music from that fantastic era, if only to reminisce and smile..I am so blessed to have enjoyed the days of past, and to have survived it all!❤👏🕊🌈❤
When I moved to York Rd in Baltimore MD. I met a woman whom I became friends with. Her name was Rose. After a year of knowing her. Rose made this statement. You are an Angel that came into my life. I told her I was in Heaven tripped on my Wings and landed on Earth. She agreed. 😇😇😇
Wonderful story.
True Story.
I was 12yrs old an still listening to this amazing music.oldies baby
I can't tell you how much joy I have finding this song again. I have memories of Blue light discos and rollerskating every week. life was so much simpler. Younger generations will never have that in the world today and it's such a pity.
The best song to ever be played at a wedding
This song echoes sweet memories of Oil Can Harry's disco in Studio City, Ca. Gorgeous men the moment you walked in. Gay men are so handsome... damn!!
I was feeling sad 😔 the other day and this song was on a tik tok video. The song brought me such joy and happy 😊 memories--yes the power of music 🎼!!! Every time I hear this music it brings me back to my Brooklyn days. ❤️

This song really gets all your cells moving. I love the "Satchmo" voice effect toward the end, perfect showcase of her voice talent. RIP to a special lady.
Ooh
It's heaven in your arms
It's the sweetness of your charms
Makes me love you more each day
In your arms I wanna stay
I've cried through many endless nights
Just holding my pillow tight
Then you came into my lonely days
With your tender love and sweet ways
Now I don't know where you come from baby
Don't know where you been now baby
Heaven must have sent you into my arms
Now in the morning when I awake
There's a smile upon my face
You touch my heart with gladness
Wiped away all of my sadness
Oh so long I've needed love right near me
A soft voice to cheer me
Heaven must have sent you baby into my life
Ooh it's heaven in your arms
It's the sweetness of your charms
Makes me love you more each day
In your arms I wanna stay.
Wanna thank you for the joy youve brought me
Thank you for the things you taught me
Thank you for holding me close
When I needed you the most
Now I dont know much about you baby
But I know I can't live without you
Heaven must have sent you honey
To love only me
Ooh
It's heaven in your arms
It's the sweetness of your charms
Makes me love you more each day
In your arms I wanna stay
It's heaven...

Great Singer! Rest with the Angels!
Bonnie Pointer passed away on June 8th, 2020, she was 69 years old...
The Oakland, CA native, as a solo artist, had three Top 100 records, "Free Me From My Freedom" {#58 in 1979}, a covered version of the Elgins' "Heaven Must Have Sent You" {#11 in 1979} and a covered version of the Four Tops' "I Can't Help Myself (Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch)" {#40 in 1980}...
She charted six more times on the Top 100 as a member of the Pointer Sisters...
May she R.I.P.
Bonnie and The Pointers were ladies I really loved hearing in the 70's and 80's (my era as I refer to it),along with so many others of that period. So it is with great sorrow tonight I saw here of her passing. As I remember she is joining her sister June singing up above.(Please correct me if I am wrong.I won't mind this time).Keep singing so sweetly ladies. You are still loved.
She did TWO VERSIONS of "Heaven Must Have Sent You" (the real LP version is at: czcams.com/video/ulFTQYKhhrA/video.html) and also did excellent covers of "When The Love Light Starts Shining Through His Eyes", "Come See About Me", "Nowhere To Run" and "Jimmy Mack." Her first two albums (the red and the purple ones) were "musts" for anyone who wants to hear Bonnie Pointer.
Darn so sorry to hear that. Thanks for all your great singing and songs Bonnie. I always really enjoyed listening. Sorry you had to go through that Rest In Peace. -Mario

ONE OF THE BEST 70'S HIGH VOLTAGE SONGS
My sister and I were best friends, till the end. I lost my big sister, almost 1 year ago to complications with MS. We would go everywhere together. When we would go dancing, this was one of many songs that we would go crazy dancing to. She was the best dancer. I miss her so much. This song brings me to every moment spent with her doing what she loved to do. I miss you Bonnie :'(

This song was a JAM! Roller skating when I was a freshman in high school... With my "tube legs," jersey-type shirt and a rat-tail comb in my back pocket. I remember her bustin' out her solo that kinda sounded like Louis Armstong... and it was cool.
