The 7 year thing is that at launch, they released a story preview trailer. It gave small comments about each region. When the game launched, we had 2 regions in the game. Every year they release a new one. Atm, we are on the 5th region, with 3 more from the planned ones. So at the very least, the game has 3 more years. However if they bust a honkai impact, they can make a part 2 to the story, and with the amount of money made vs honkai impact, I wouldnt be too surpised if they do. Anyways, if you do end up playing, good luck. They constantly add new stuff. Not just new regions, but also expansions to older ones. But only about half the patches add new big areas. Other half are events and new enemies, so you can eventually be caught up. As for gacha, well yea... though if you start soonish, you can maybe get a character that can help with water travel.
Aside from the insane editing, imo the best part of this video is the background music which with the exception of the opening and closing songs, is all from the demo trailers and speaking of the songs, the opening is fan made and the ending is Moon Halo from the Honkai Impact 3rd cutscene, Everlasting Flames
This game is fun, music is great, characters are amazing, the story's gripping, and the scenery is beautiful, just know that this game is three years in and you've missed out on a lot of story content and will probably have to find them on CZcams

Also it wasn't mixed very good. Someone posted an edited version on youtube where they mixed it better so the words actually match with the rhythm. It still isn't great but it's a lot better. The English VO studios mess a lot of stuff up, they seemingly tend to not give enough info to the actors. For example Neuvillette's basic attacks, Ray Chase is a fantastic VA but he wasn't told what Neuvi's attacks would be like. And how they changed Paimon's voice.
The latest region, Fontaine has an even better storyline so far then the amazing Sumeru storyline he mentioned. Also, Moon Halo 🥹 (It is the song from the outro and is from another game from the company behind Genshin Impact)
Most of the major glitches were patched shortly after discovery, so Maxor having footage of all of them in action shows he did not stop playing during the 2 years since his first video. For the music, the intro is a genshin fan song and the outro is from Honkai, another game by the same devs, but almost all the rest was straight from genshin and the character demos. There were only 2 persona tracks near the start.
Well if you’re gonna start it’s best to watch the character demo videos, there should be a playlist on Genshin’s main channel but fair warning, it will take over an hour

I will say that a lot of Max0r's videos are probably best watched with SOME pre-existing knowledge of the thing he's talking about If you're watching Max0r as your source for learning about something you have no idea about, a lot of time he likes to exaggerate or joke about stuff, and if you take it at face value without knowing it's a joke or exaggeration you could get a wrong impression
You could argue the same for abridged series too. Some pre-knowledge helps, but most of the time, it doesn't rely on it. I think as long as you're not taking everything Max0r says as true/canon, you'll be fine.

You should 1000% not split the character demo/trailer reactions into different videos ESPECIALLY if you want to make a audience out of the players. As a member of the Genshin community I can confirm that by reacting to those trailers you can bring in a lot of new people, but you have to be able to hold their attention for them to stick. Spreading the trailers out across multiple years of reactions to the old stuff is not going to cut it for most of them. There's over 70+ playable characters and that number only grows higher and higher with new patches every month and a half that always (with one exception) bring anywhere from 1-4 new characters. Honestly just making one big 1-2 hour video of the character demos and one 1~ video reacting to the version trailers is the best way to go about it, then have someone link all of the new videos from whenever a new patch goes live moving forward from there. I've seen entire channels pop off overnight just to lose all of that momentum instantly because of Genshin reactions. There's even been a handful that have skyrocketed their channels popularity because of these kinds of videos. Genshin content of any kind holds a lot of power in the YT gaming sphere that it's kind of scary at times tbh.

When genshin came out, a bunch of my friends and I got stuck in playing it. The thing that ended up ultimately turning me off to it (and I don't know if it's still like this) is that once I got to the second world area I have to do a bunch of level grinding just to unlock the next bit of story content.
I can truly say that I love playing Genshin. It's insane how much you get for FREE. Sure, I occasionally will buy some gems if I really want something I haven't already saved for, but honestly the game gives you plenty to work with just by playing. It helps that I play casually and know my limits. Highly recommend as it's a blast and gorgeous.

I believe that Gacha has less to do with the English Gotcha, and it's from a Japanese onomatopoeia for the sound of one of those capsule toy vending machines, specifically the turning of the knob on front. Some of the capsule toys are a form of anime merch and sometimes people will spend a lot of money trying to get certain characters from them, so it fits for these sort of games lol.

Not a bad analogy, really. The fact that it can be skewed to "gotcha" to allude to the often scummy monetization practices the genre is known for is just a fun coincidence and bonus.
ngl, this video is what eventually sold me Genshin Impact (mostly because of the "hey, there's actually a significant amount of stuff that isn't the gacha mechanics, you can just... spend a couple hours climbing over desert dunes looking for chests" aspect of it). And then the story in the later patches ended up being genuinely good, and you can always keep me invested with stories about characters I care about, I play FF14 after all.
Reason almost everyone who plays Genshin doesn't recommend it is cause despite having a vast world map, character roster, story and lore, at the end of the day it is still a mobile gacha and it will tear through your wallet in the blink of an eye if you lack self-control. My advice is to play but do NOT put money into the game. Ignore 90% of the Shop menu and only roll with what currency the game lets you earn through gameplay.

Speaking as a person who plays it, it's good fun. There's hundreds of hours of gametime for free, and the main motivation for buying in it is that you really like the game. Just sit down and make sure to do the math on how much money per primogem the different alternatives are. The instant cash alternatives are insanely overpriced compared to the slower ones. Speaking to a content creator however, I'd consider playing Genshin as low-tier content you can do just to relax with if you don't have much better to do. There's so many people who already have streamed Genshin, and the game is about to complete the 5th zone (Fontaine, which is the one after Sumeru). You're gonna be so far behind that no one is there to watch you play GENSHIN, they're there to watch YOU PLAY genshin. If that makes sense. Honestly, I'd just play it for fun. Only advice I'll give is that all + ATK % buffs buff your characters base attack, meaning base stats + WEAPON. I.e., use the best weapons you can, upgrade them as best as you can. If you get 4 star weapons (you get them as pity prices for the gacha rolls. Also, always roll 10 at a time), those weapons will most likely be with you until endgame. 5 star weapons are so good you might just find a character to level up to use it. If you know this, and that you only ever use the limited currency (primogems) to buy the limited time character banner 10 pulls, you're set to play this game entirely F2P for at least 200 hours without any issues.
Yeah if you wanna play genshin and want to play with fans I’d definitely be down to help you get into it, I’m not like the over obsessed players who’ve spent 4000hours min/maxing everything but I’m pretty high leveled and could give you some beginner tips
Well, the reason why most people would recommend Genshin Impact is that the game is so fun to play however because of that if you don't have self control you will spend so much money as well play for too long where you will waste time (as well ran of the fun parts kind of quickly because while there is a lot, it is not infinite).
"one of the most expensive game worlds", not expensive to buy, but to make, the game in total has costed over 700 million to this date to produce, thats more then GTA 5, or Cyberpunk, Its basically like top 3 most expensive games ever. Hard to tell since not all games show the figures, but basically only very big long term MMO's like WOW, have costed about this much or more to make and keep up over many many years.
Yeah to play Genshin you need either self control or a stable income. The mindset "I don't need every character" is very good to keep. I personally was f2p for like one and a half years, then spent some money every now and then. I'm willing to spend money on a character that I absolutely love, story wise and playstyle wise. Recently spent about 60€ for 2 characters and a weapon, that's not a lot but I have also saved up wishes and grind daily to get wishes. But you can absolutely play the full game without ever wishing or using money. Also, don't play the game just because you want an audience, play the game because you want to play it and invest your time in it.
the comments are correct if you don't have self control you shouldn't play Genshin is an RPG with gacha mechanics and not a full gacha so it doesn't have anti-consumer mechanics like most gacha If you simply play the game it gives you enough to get a character you want but it won't give you enough to max out all 70 characters in the game obviously and you don't need all the characters anyway other than that constellations are absolutely useless(repeated copies of characters that make your character stronger) but half the fanbase still doesn't understand that the only thing I spent money on in the game was on a skin that I liked and even so I have 12 5-star characters and 8 5-star weapons absolutely without spending anything and that's not impressive at all when it comes to Genshin Other than that, the game's mechanics and lore are excellent

The bit about the Kujou Encampment is that it's in the field, but has its own unique theme seperate from the open world.

You can't expect Chinese lyrics to match the same beat when translated. It wasn't going to sound good in English regardless.

Gacha games are called such because that's the sound those little capsule dispenser machines make. It's a Japanese onomatopoeia based on a machine that dispenses mystery prizes. Not a bad analogy, really. The fact that it can be skewed to "gotcha" to allude to the often scummy monetization practices the genre is known for is just a fun coincidence and bonus.
ngl, this video is what eventually sold me Genshin Impact (mostly because of the "hey, there's actually a significant amount of stuff that isn't the gacha mechanics, you can just... spend a couple hours climbing over desert dunes looking for chests" aspect of it).
And then the story in the later patches ended up being genuinely good, and you can always keep me invested with stories about characters I care about, I play FF14 after all.
Reason almost everyone who plays Genshin doesn't recommend it is cause despite having a vast world map, character roster, story and lore, at the end of the day it is still a mobile gacha and it will tear through your wallet in the blink of an eye if you lack self-control.
My advice is to play but do NOT put money into the game. Ignore 90% of the Shop menu and only roll with what currency the game lets you earn through gameplay.

Speaking as a person who plays it, it's good fun. There's hundreds of hours of gametime for free, and the main motivation for buying in it is that you really like the game. Just sit down and make sure to do the math on how much money per primogem the different alternatives are. The instant cash alternatives are insanely overpriced compared to the slower ones.
Speaking to a content creator however, I'd consider playing Genshin as low-tier content you can do just to relax with if you don't have much better to do. There's so many people who already have streamed Genshin, and the game is about to complete the 5th zone (Fontaine, which is the one after Sumeru). You're gonna be so far behind that no one is there to watch you play GENSHIN, they're there to watch YOU PLAY genshin. If that makes sense.
Honestly, I'd just play it for fun. Only advice I'll give is that all + ATK % buffs buff your characters base attack, meaning base stats + WEAPON. I.e., use the best weapons you can, upgrade them as best as you can. If you get 4 star weapons (you get them as pity prices for the gacha rolls. Also, always roll 10 at a time), those weapons will most likely be with you until endgame. 5 star weapons are so good you might just find a character to level up to use it. If you know this, and that you only ever use the limited currency (primogems) to buy the limited time character banner 10 pulls, you're set to play this game entirely F2P for at least 200 hours without any issues.

Well, the reason why most people would recommend Genshin Impact is that the game is so fun to play however because of that if you don't have self control you will spend so much money as well play for too long where you will waste time (as well ran of the fun parts kind of quickly because while there is a lot, it is not infinite).
"one of the most expensive game worlds", not expensive to buy, but to make, the game in total has costed over 700 million to this date to produce, thats more then GTA 5, or Cyberpunk, Its basically like top 3 most expensive games ever. Hard to tell since not all games show the figures, but basically only very big long term MMO's like WOW, have costed about this much or more to make and keep up over many many years.

Yeah to play Genshin you need either self control or a stable income. The mindset "I don't need every character" is very good to keep.
I personally was f2p for like one and a half years, then spent some money every now and then. I'm willing to spend money on a character that I absolutely love, story wise and playstyle wise. Recently spent about 60€ for 2 characters and a weapon, that's not a lot but I have also saved up wishes and grind daily to get wishes.
But you can absolutely play the full game without ever wishing or using money.
Also, don't play the game just because you want an audience, play the game because you want to play it and invest your time in it.

Genshin is an RPG with gacha mechanics and not a full gacha so it doesn't have anti-consumer mechanics like most gacha
If you simply play the game it gives you enough to get a character you want but it won't give you enough to max out all 70 characters in the game obviously
and you don't need all the characters anyway other than that constellations are absolutely useless(repeated copies of characters that make your character stronger) but half the fanbase still doesn't understand that
the only thing I spent money on in the game was on a skin that I liked and even so I have 12 5-star characters and 8 5-star weapons absolutely without spending anything and that's not impressive at all when it comes to Genshin
Other than that, the game's mechanics and lore are excellent

I will state this Duck. If you do play Genshin on here or on stream be careful cause people can and Will buy you primos just to see you attempt to pull for characters. (HIDE YOUR UUID) that's the only bit of advice i can give before you attempt the game. Also if you do have people help you be careful. we are known to be crazy and the numbers will not make ANY sense. (God of GEO with a fucking 200k shield skill.)
