A Day At The Greenfield Village On Memorial Day 2024

On may 27, 2024. Me and my family were at the greenfield village at dearborn michigan on the memorial day. Here's Edison 4-4-0 steam locomotive number 1. Edison 1 was built in 1932. This locomotive is based on an 0-4-0 switcher steam locomotive built about 1870 by manchester locomotive works and henry ford purchased the switcher from edison portland cement company in 1932. Mr. Ford had the locomotive rebuilt into a 4-4-0 wheel arrangement by staff at ford motor company's rouge locomotive shop. Edison later went into regular service on greenfield village's railroad. The 4 locomotives are not running today is in the detroit toledo & milwaukee roundhouse. Detroit & Lima Northern Railway number 7 and it was built by baldwin locomotive works in 1897. Torch Lake Steam Locomotive number 3 and it built by Mason Machine Works in 1873. General Electric Diesel-Electric Locomotive built in 1942. 1927 Plymouth Gasoline-Mechanical Locomotive. The 1 locomotive was Detroit, Toledo & Ironton No. 45. It was 4-4-2 "Atlantic and it was built by alco in 1902 for the Michigan Central Railroad as number 254. It was public display but no tender with it. Here's we got a shot to see Edison 1 and pulls with 3 open passenger cars. Those open passenger cars was used on the weiser railroad.
