FAQ’s
- How old are you? 19
- What do you film with? For the audio I use a Rode NT1 condenser mic with an AI-1 single channel audio interface, I either use my Nikon D5500 camera or my phone for the footage and I edit with iMovie and GarageBand.

Just a tip. Never EVER use the sinus rinse without the packet though. I did that once, if felt like my head was going to explode! You can also just use some small amount of salt instead of the packets. It's a lot cheaper. I have sinus issues too and now I have a deviated septum. I can hardly breath out of my nose, it sucks.
I was like yesterday, 'I need to get better at vocal health, I wish Emily did a video on it' and then today AHA! The world, tis good!
same!
Can you do a video of requesting audition songs for all different vocal ranges? Finding a song is one of the hardest parts for me and I’m sure you did a lot of auditions before covid!
I love your accent and your energy. You are so funny and I aspire to be as good a singer as you. I try but you should do a video where you teach us how to belt in a healthy way.
Check out Hannah Bayles! She's an excellent voice coach on youtube. It could be hard for Emily to make those types of videos because different things work for everyone and she hasn't been trained to teach.
Could you do a video about how you improved your voice throughout all those years? i mean how much do u exercise, what has helped u, what didint etc.? Your improvement is soo impressive and i'd love to hear how did you came so far😊
Yes! That would be awesome!!
Yesss please i need this
Yesss
I love how enthusiastic you are about everything! 💞
I love your personality so much!!! Thanks for the informative video
Thank you for this video!!! I lost my voice back in March after I got a cough (which lasted for 2 months) and I FINALLY got into the nose throat doctor and my app is this Thursday so hopefully I can start using these tips soon!!
Yes, the Neil Med is a LIFESAVER for my voice
Thanks, Emily! You're the best
This video came out at just the right time; I’m becoming more serious and committed to my voice, and I’ve been looking for ideas of what other singers do for voice health.
Same
Personally a milo works best for me ( warm on cold days and cold on warm days ).
Also English muffin splits with avocado. Really helps me hit the Whitney Huston notes.
u have the best energy
This video was amazing im an aspiring Broadway singer too and my mix voice needs some work so these tips were really helpful
Thank you! I love your videos😍
Thank you so much for this!!!🤍🍄
thank you for this video ❤️❤️
Love this! thank you so much for this!! xxx
Thanks I had no idea where to get started with this
thank you sm for this!
Oh my god I’m about to go to a voice lesson I need this
I have been struggling with my vocal health for a while now so I'm really grateful for this video!
This is so helpful! Just subscribed ☺️
you sound just like a younger Samantha Barks. thank you so much for this, I need to get better at vocal health. could you make a vocal warm up video? ❤️
Thank you, Emily. 👍
Thank you so much!
Amazing video , really helpful
would love to add something I've learned and can support because it's true in my case - acids, such as lemon, orange, tomato, pepermint and coffee can cause an acid reflux. Tea also tends to dry out the vocal folds, so it's not great to drink right before singing.
Some GREAT foods are gummy bears!! The glisterine in gummy bears can help smooth the middle passage. Also greasy foods are really really great for your voice!!!!
I think that might just be a you thing.
@@lilithcrow6675 totally possible, i actually heard the information in a broadway workshop, i didn’t believe it either, but I did lots of research. I tried it out and it worked!! It may not work for everyone :) just thought I’d share anyway☺️
I have that sinus rinse thing. It's great to prevent hayfever affecting your voice and all. Recommend.
this is my first vid of hers and i love her already XD
last year I had this bizarre thing happen with my voice where I couldn't sing a Bb 6 (I could sing above and below but just not that note). I went to an ENT and its insane how quickly they were able to figure out what was wrong and how to fix it. Going to a doctor really is so important.
Also I have the mypurmist portable steamer and I concur, it is incredible
I have the Vicks brand and also a cool mist humidifier
How do you steam your voice with a steamer that's meant for your face? I'd love to buy one❤️ great video and tips btw, I love you so much❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Should I do vocal warm ups right after I've done vocal exercises? Usually I do 22 minute vocal exercises and then sing some songs afterwards, should I warm up my voice in between?
You say that your nostrils are uneven, yet you still sound sooooo amazing
Don't worry, be happy :D
I loooive this gorgeous talented legennnd
This is so helpful! I’m having this weird issue at the moment where I have this urge to cough when I sing even though I’m not sick. I’ve been considering the pure mist vocal steamer and the singing straw for a while and I just ordered both after watching this video.. oops 😬 😂
I also wanted to get some of the Barkers syrup but I don’t think they ship to Aus
i’m screaming omg i’ve been watching your videos for years and i’m just now realizing you have an accent 💀💀💀 (well not really i’m from the us so u have an accent to me) but yeah oml that’s crazy
Could you give a lesson on how to warm up your voice?
THANK YOU SO MUCH OH MY GOSH. also steamer twinssss
Is it possible to have fear of talking in front of a camera and even though to be a good comunicator?
Yeap. That’s Emily. Sooo cute.
Omggggg I have awful breathing issues! I gotta try that straw thing 🤩
Do you dance? Also I’m having so much trouble finding my mix (I’ve always belted and it’s beginning to get unhealthy), do you have any tips?
Can we take any vocal steamer? Like the ones for your face?
Omg THANK YOU
I would love for you to perform Let Me Dance For You from A Chorus Line the Movie. I'm trying to find a good recording of it and your voice would sound amazing with it!
what video(s) do you recommend to help with belting?
Omg I didn’t know you were from New Zealand
Well done Emily good video.☘☘
Never sing after hot steam and don’t use any mentol products (unless you have a cold and it’s necessary), as it will dry out the voice.
If you want a portable steamer take nebuliser. Which has cold steam and comes with special ampules of liquid that’s safe to inhale. (There’s plenty on amazon).
Similar but not the same as the singing straw there’s also flexibel wider straws that come with the ‘lax vox’ technique. There’s a lot of info on that on the internet. (Pro singer tip: any bendy plastic tube works).
Can you PLEASE do The Life I Never Led from Sister Act😭 I think you’d sound AMAZING AT IT
I tend to struggle with constant sore throats do you have any tips for that?
hi! i’m a singer and my tip would be, TONS of room temperature water, and lots of non caffeinated tea (i like peppermint) with honey. hope this helps!
YESSSS
how the heck do you use the straw?!
can i vocalize while steaming or its not recommendable???
what professional show did you get in?
YOUR ACCENT WHAT
Can you do a singing lesson video pls 🥺
You should duet "Come What May" from Moulin Rouge with someone!
can u say what musical did u got into? I'm so curious to know lol
thank you emily, this video is amazing
@@liaclare4704 but she was in les mis Auckland before... was she going into another production?
@@liaclare4704 hahahaha its okay. i don't think she can answer it anyways so
Could you so privet zoom lessons?
omg do asmr!
💖💛💖💛💖💛💖
knowing when to shut up LMAO OMG, my biggest problem
the one dislike is a sore throat
😂😂😂😂😂
i'm just curious but what virus did you get that caused you to lose your voice?
I’m already terrible at breathing and now having to sing with a mask makes it so much worse
Hey barkers doesn’t deliver to America what do I doooooooo
Hello, I love U
tbh even though i should, i never warm up, just sing lol
I used to do that a lot but once I lost my voice back in February I decided to never do it again. It's so dangerous and unhealthy. I had a soar throat, and still sung and BELTED without warning up which made me lose my voice and I'm still recovering.😂🤦🏻♀️ I don't take any voice lessons or anything so I definitely made some mistakes while singing too😂😂🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ so don't do that take care and look after your voice please❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
@@DanaiThomopoulou thanks for that and lol i have lost my voice too but i dont think it was because of warming up just of extensive use of my voice for like an audition or something and right after all that my voice is ugh but yeah i will take care of it more thanks
@@oliverdelgado8802 stay safe love ya❤️❤️😘
@@DanaiThomopoulou u too
*Jesus Christ loves you and cares for you have a good day everyone*
Yay im early lol
I really love your channel and especially your voice
