tbh, i think that the switch to "dramatic heel music with choir intro" puts him a little too close to Bayley and Seth in terms of theme song identity. It sounds... okay, but not like a top star's theme. it just kinda sounds like royalty-free tracks you'd use for a gaming montage haha

@@ezelegui7901 you're right! I don't like Def Rebel's music at all. They are a production music company and it shows - it all sounds like royalty free tracks, and not even particularly good ones at that.
Not that CFO$ was amazing or anything, but in their own way, the knockoff songs they did had some more character. And Jim Johnston's Shield theme definitely had more personality than this. I get that people harped on Roman never switching to his own theme, but tbh, the initial riff hits the same way as the glass shatter in Austin's theme, or the initial riff in Triple H's theme, or even something like the WCW production theme used for Goldberg, for example. Or, since you mentioned it, John Cena's theme. The horn sample and the dude going "Rapadoo" or whatever are there to build up hype, be it cheers or boos.
The best themes have something unique about them that hits just as they come out from the curtains and this just doesn't have it, even compared to other songs with similar build ups in wrestling. Nobody likes Baron Corbin but that theme is undeniably representative of who he is. The Seth Rollins theme, also by Def Rebel, does a good job of playing up his messiah gimmick. Bayley's worked because her heel character was such a radical departure from who she was as a babyface
