I'm just disappointed in all the pink as I know I will likely not use them but.. let's be honest we are here for the shimmers hunny stunning. Will be purchasing
While I may have other mattes in my collection, when I’m reaching to use this Pat palette, which costs a pretty penny, I don’t want to have to dip into all of these other palettes for desired look. It’s inconvenient. So I think Morgan’s point is very valid. Just my two cents!
The Celestial Divinity palette from last year’s holiday collection only had 3 matte shades, also. I think this is a trend for her with her larger palettes?
I’m so on the fence about this palette! I’m just not into yellowy golds, oranges, or teals and there’s so many of those in this palette 😭 but the green shade is so gorgeous I almost want the whole palette just for that
This year it has been the year if the single eyeshadows for me. Terra Moons cosmetics has amazing greens shadows right now. It might be worth to check those out.
You’d be better off buying a single from Sydney Grace or one of the other indie brands considering these aren’t her special shades...good luck resisting lol💚
surprised by how many pinks are in this... it doesn't actually register when you look at the palette because your eye goes to the pops of color but it's a majority pink/peach palette. We need to let Pat know that the pink story has been fun but it's time to move on.
This was so helpful because Pat’s swatches on her website never really give and accurate representation. I wish there wasn’t so many pink shades and with that being said, you saved me $78! 🙌🏽
I feel like this palette doesn’t really have a real color story. However I agree it has a ton of great wearable shades and I still ordered it and am excited to get it soon 😅
Agreed. I liked the layout of last year - 3 sections of 6 shades - made a lot of sense to me. This one, I look at it and all I see is repeat of Golden Opulence meets Rose Decadence on the left and a repeat of the middle section of Celestial Divinity with a hint of Eternal Eden on the right. There's only so many times I can buy palettes that are intended complement an existing collection before I feel like I'm just buying the same dang concept over and over again. I'm sure the quality is great, and if I didn't already own 75% of the eye shadows PMG has ever made, then I'd be all over this, but for me, this is too much of the same thing. ... that being said, if she does a bundled deal with this palette and the two quads and a blush/highlighter trio... I might be all in. But I need to see some real-life swatches of those quads first. Her PR swatches are inconsistent.

I'm using a picture of this palette to create looks every day to try and get it out of my system. My first look was very similar to yours! I have some beautiful indie shadows and I have all these shades. Plus the palette is large and I don't have a way to store it well.... You're right that it's very wearable and the limited mattes guide you into simple but impactful looks.

Nah, there I've said it - 3 pinks! Why? Golds and orangey peachy shades - again WHY? If Miss Pat was to have released an all matte palette - with zero duplicate (or near duplicate) shades in it - I would be THE happiest person in makeup world. Mattes are the backbone of an eye look and will raise any look (I love her matte formula), is it too much to ask for? Well done to you, I didn't think I'd be seeing this vid so soon! I originally wasn’t tempted as I was so hoping for a new quad of my dreams, but when I looked closer this palette had so many shades I have been looking for! Including a black shimmer which I feel like is really underrepresented in her other palettes, and fun colourful shades to mix in. Soo excited for mine to arrive, thank you for this video! As someone growing my eyeshadow collection, this palette looks perfect.
I made the snap decision to buy it early despite telling myself to wait for reviews lol. I'm glad I jumped on it, looks like it's a good one that will be fun to pair with my other Pat palettes. The big reason I didn't get last year's was the lack of mattes and the fact that there were too many purples and golds (beautiful as they all were though) and not enough everyday kinds of shades.

But honestly if you really want shimmer and sparkle I’d check out indie shadows like JD Glow, Clionadh, Devinah, or Terra Moons. Definitely wait for a 25-30% off sale before you spring for a mothership. That way if you decide they’re just okay you haven’t spent full price. Last week I wore a different palette each day and the one that got the most compliments was Colourpop’s Lush Life.🤷🏻♀️

I got my palette today. This is my 1st time using Pat McGrath. I LOVE the colors. And I chose this palette because I don’t like matte blues, greens or purples. I dove straight to the green and it is absolutely gorgeous and shiny but it did flake a LOT. However, being the amateur makeup person that I am, I used a brush and not my finger so I’ll be sure to try that tomorrow. I was so afraid to spend this much money on eyeshadow but I don’t regret it now that I’ve tried it.

Next Saterday we fly back home to The Netherlands, we are in Greece still for holiday, so i will wait a maybe a day to order, it takes mostly a little bit more than 4 working days, but not always. Thank you for featuring this new palette. It is beautiful. I agree with your assessment that there are too many peach/pink shades and that last year’s colour story was more interesting. But I was actually disappointed with last year’s palette because there was so much fallout and the pigmentation was too sheer. Given that the new palette has also been made in the US, as last year’s, I am curious to know whether you are getting fallout with any of these new shades. Thank you again.
So I bit the bullet this year by buying this bigger holiday palette. I like the colours and the packaging more than last year's. Mine still has not arrived yet (I live in Europe so with the expedited shipping I will get it next week), but I kind of have very neutral expectation for this palette. I just want to see how this compares to her other products, and if I don't like it I can then skip the big holiday palette in the future. Based on the swatches I think the two matte pinks are bit of a repeat in a palette that does not have that many matte shades to begin with.

I personally wouldn't call this a colourfull palette . There are three shades that are green/blue and the rest are all pinks and neutrals.

Pretty palette but I agree with less pinks and more mattes. A blue or green matte would have been great. I'll pull in some of my other matte shades. Can't wait for mine to arrive. Love PMG eye shadows! Great review.Your look is so pretty!!

Next Saterday we fly back home to The Netherlands, we are in Greece still for holiday, so i will wait a maybe a day to order, it takes mostly a little bit more than 4 working days, but not always. I think that Raw Beauty Kristi's At Forrest Sight would work really well with this pallet for complimentary colors! Love the look you ended up with!!
Thank you for featuring this new palette. It is beautiful. I agree with your assessment that there are too many peach/pink shades and that last year’s colour story was more interesting. But I was actually disappointed with last year’s palette because there was so much fallout and the pigmentation was too sheer. Given that the new palette has also been made in the US, as last year’s, I am curious to know whether you are getting fallout with any of these new shades. Thank you again.
So I bit the bullet this year by buying this bigger holiday palette. I like the colours and the packaging more than last year's. Mine still has not arrived yet (I live in Europe so with the expedited shipping I will get it next week), but I kind of have very neutral expectation for this palette. I just want to see how this compares to her other products, and if I don't like it I can then skip the big holiday palette in the future. Based on the swatches I think the two matte pinks are bit of a repeat in a palette that does not have that many matte shades to begin with.
