People can fuck up, do horrible things, and even unforgivable things, but if their actions aren’t properly addressed then there’s no incentive for them to take accountability. Also, holding in everyone’s secrets can overflow your cup, so when you finally spill you spill much more than your own shit when it might not be your place/time to do so. David needs therapy, isolation, exercise, diet change, and probably methadone or suboxone treatment bc none of the coke or molly is cut safely any more and pills are even less stable. Songs like Pressure, What I Have, Spawn Camping, Green, Emails, and many more show just how musically minded and creative David can be, when he’s focused. He’s an innovative artist, focused on the art and not the fame of it, but his personal issues have him by the neck. I can’t say I ever imagined David going huge and mainstream, but definitely living comfortably below his means off of his years of hard work in the underground, and now even that seems far fetched. I personally know some people that used to run with him, and they never had anything bad to say about him. People in Seattle seemed really excited when I brought up his name, like they were proud of him. This shit just really, really hurts to watch. I fully believe his victims, and hope that for everyone’s sake (including his own, despite him admitting he’s done awful things) that he steps back and seeks help. With all the bridges he’s burnt, my hopes aren’t very high that he won’t just end up dead somehow, especially with him possibly being on the spectrum and undiagnosed. That shame and guilt is going to eat him alive, if he doesn’t channel it into sobriety and making music. this was very well said. i have had a lot of issues with substance abuse and i will tell anyone who is reading this now, that it only gets worse. you HAVE to surrender all control of drugs and alcohol in order to recover and live the life you dreamed of. i’m nearly 1 month clean, have been doing 12 step work everyday, going to meetings and it has brought me nothing but gratitude and blessings. really take care of yourself or you’ll lose yourself.
