I’ll watch it, since I already have Hulu, but my expectations are pretty low. The trailer doesn’t look like it’s bringing anything new and is more like watching a college production of a broadway play. The plot to the original was nothing groundbreaking, but the performances by Woody, Wesley, Rosie Perez, Tyra Ferrell, and the other players elevated it. Plus, you had a writer/director who was a former pro athlete who had a natural ability when it came to writing trash talk. I’m just not seeing that spark with this trailer. I hope I’m wrong and it’s good, but it definitely feels like one you should really only check out if you have absolutely nothing else to do.
How'd you like it? I thought it was fine and funny most of the time
It’s not terrible, but it wasn’t very good. Truthfully, it felt like a pilot episode for a TV show about 2 washed up basketball players making a comeback, then someone decided to slap the “White Men Can’t Jump” name on it and add a few f-bombs. I also thought the female characters were reduced to typical sitcom girlfriend roles. The saving grace is at least I didn’t have to pay for a ticket.

Id put it in the 4-6 range outta 10 and you're for sure right about this film being hindered by the run time and title. If it was a short series with more time to expand on the story and relationships of side characters I might have liked it more since that was really my favorite part of the original. I'd still recommend it as a watch if you're bored and have some time to kill but I feel like they could have done a much better job.
Also can't forgive them for havin this man Vince Staples play a certified milk man who can't get a single bucket the whole film 😂😂
