  • I picked this up as part of a pair and didn't think much of it until I started to dig in and realized it was a really solid mower with a huge motor. As always, someone left old gas in it and the carb was gummed to no end.

    Definitely easier said then done Bill! Them linkages sometimes mess me UP! Oh boy here we go fellows he's using Flora Craft!!!!!🤣 So much for INFAMOUS first pull!🤣💯👍🏾

      I think about the linkage every time and try to mention taking a picture. If you can, set up a tripod so you can remember what order it came apart.
      I never edit the first pull, I was bound to hit one that didn't start eventually. When it didn't go I thought "'Well, 20 or so in a row, one was bound to eventually not start." Once it got a new plug it became a one pull mower. 👍

    My dad got a Snapper with a 5-horse flathead and an outfit got Snappers with 6-horse Briggs fladhead I/C Briggs 2-cycles. THEY were hosses but I got a Roof 28 inch with a Briggs I/C 8 horse on it. Then there was a Ex-mark 4-footer with the 12 horse Kawasaki and the Granvely walk behind with the cast iron 301 Kohlers. There sure are some hod rod mowers there and you did GOOD! Happy week and stay cool. Rain here and Toots is on a grub run. CHEERS, Pal!

    Another great fix Bill! That harmonic almost sounded like the mower was "talking" to you! Cheers.

    Nice mower Bill. Ive never come across that model before. That mower should be an easy sell. ✌🎬🇺🇸

      The pro series mowers are hard to come by but yeah, they sell fast. They are pretty bulletproof.

    Nice one Bill, yes I’ve missed a few videos. Had family commitments, no time for videos. Came back to over one hundred videos to watch, no chance.

    I had a similar one come my way but with a Chinese Craftsman Engine. ( Predator?) on a MyStride Craftsman mower. Its only problem was gas tank cap wouldn’t vent right.
    This one is a great fix , I have never seen a Briggs like this

      @GuysPlayingWithTools  Před 14 dny +1

      Non venting caps are definitely a thing, and not obvious.
      This is a commercial motor. I never get to play with them. Now I have 2 🙂

      I always say it... a spark plug *usually* won't prevent a mower starting, but it can prevent it running right. This was a perfect example of that.

    • @haneyoakie14
      @haneyoakie14 Před 14 dny +1

      @@GuysPlayingWithTools I once rebuilt the fuel and the points ignition systems of a 3 hp Briggs Horizontal engine just to discover that the plug that would fire outside the engine was the culprit. Now a new-ish plug is one of my first go to steps if the carb spray into the carb throat fails to show proof of life.

    • @GuysPlayingWithTools
      @GuysPlayingWithTools  Před 14 dny +1

      @haneyoakie14 That's a good way to go. I usually check the kill cable and switch, then the plug before using the spark checker. I do my best to go from the easiest thing to check. To the hardest.

      Everyone that knows how they work inside loves the Quantum. If I had to choose one, and I had to keep it forever, it would have a Quantum on it
