I never wanted kids, I’m a straight cis female and I was born without a maternal instinct... when you see In the news that a mother went on holiday leaving her kids alone with 2 cans of soup and a can opener, yeah, that’d be me! I knew from a very young age that I never wanted kids, I refused even to play mummy with dolls. I made my sister cry when I taught her barbie karate and talked her into dropping ken for action man. I just turned 50 in nov and my baby making factory closed forever... as I got closer to mentalpause I did have a few “should I have had kids” panics, but a trip to the supermarket soon put me off that thought.
My friends often say “what will you do when you’re old?” Erm... go on long fucking trips and not be a burden! Did they really only have kids to be their nursemaid before they croak? Fuck that, I’ll just employ someone.

my aunt didnt have kids and bc of that she was able to retire at the age of 50 and lives at a beach house and when she's old she has her nieces and nephews plus plenty of $$$$ if she needs someone to take care of her. go live your life girl, you'll be fine and happy.

They treat it like a club, and everyone with a uterus is expected to join -- or else, they take your woman card. My life is not about fulfilling society's expected & imposed role of me. I'm more than my uterus. My identity is not defined by my attachments, partners, or family extensions. The goal of being a good mother, sister, daughter, wife, girlfriend, etc. is so annoying bc these titles are focused on how well you cater to others. What about catering to my own needs?
