This song basically revolves around Aditha Karikalan (Vikram) and Nandini (Aishwarya Rai)'s love story. Aditha is the Crown Prince of the Chola kingdom and Nandini is an orphan. Learning about the love affair between the two, Nandini was shooed away from the Kingdom by the Royal people without the knowledge of Aditha. When Aditha learns about this he's furious and heart broken. He sings this song in her fond memory.
