I've used this app extensively for some time and really like it. DO not remember when/how I discovered it. Very useful for doing live sound.

I've used Octave for years and love it. I really need to get a 1/8" to XLR to get a straight feed.

I am going to be honest...completely lost here...but what you've explained makes sense (I guess). I came here because my car stereo sound is lousy, have the low mid high. Don't think this will help, but this was very informative

I have been using Studio Six Digital’s Sound Tools with their iTest Mic 1. Would be interested in your take on it.

Been curious with the adapter everyone is using to input their measurement mic into their tablet? I bought two different trrs adapter one with female xlr and the other with a 3/4 input. None of them work. I use the on board pre of the console of the day and route that signal discreetly to an aux and into my adapter. Doesn’t work! A little annoying. Not unless the board has a usb interface feature then I won’t be able to use the app properly. Any insights?

Francis, why adaptor have you tried? The one linked in the description has been very good for me & I have not heard of anyone having issues with them and iOS devices. They are also pretty cheap. What type of tablet are you using?

DcSoundOp i use a regular plain jane ipad i got last year so it’s fairly new. I was wondering if I need to feed the input of the trrs adapter a mono cable instead. I haven’t tested it out just yet. But I’ve tried every known working balance cable to come in to the trrs we have in storage and it aint working. I almost lost a gig because of it. A guy wanted to record onto his phone a webinar(i know we could have done it separately but he insisted).

@@junejhunkie Does the cable you are using look similar to the one I linked in the description? Can you send a link to what you are using? I have never had an issue with an iPad using this method, so perhaps it's a hardware issue that needs apples attention to fix. But knowing more about your setup would really help make it easier to diagnose.

      DcSoundOp www.amazon.com/gp/aw/ya/ref=oh_aui_ia_bia_view?ie=UTF8&ac=bia&reorder_params=B01DTM8SJA%2C111-1256007-2737809
And I bought a 3.5 mm version of the input and a camera adapter kit which is the only way Ive been able to use my app to tune a room. Hope this help with the diagnosis and thanks for the swift reply! I enjoy your channel a lot by the way. Watched some vids multiple times and sent it to others as well.

DcSoundOp just an update I tested different kinds of adapters and found that the issue was because I was feeding the input an unbalanced signal. When I plug in a dynamic mic straight into the female xlr adapter to trrs it worked great.
