    Video Description
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    I told you all that I have installed the Android 14 beta 4 build on my Google Pixel 7 Pro here and in today's video I want to show you the new space exploring easter egg that was just added.
    #android #android14 #easteregg #androidapp #androidapps #androidgames #googlepixel #pixel7 #pixel7pro #pixel6 #pixel6pro #pixel5 #pixelfold #pixeltablet
    For those who may not be familiar, Google has included secret easter eggs in its Android releases all the way back to version 2.3 Gingerbread. For a while, these were just very simple secrets that mostly consisted of images or basic animations.
    But with the launch of Android 5.0 Lollipop the company began adding basic games. With this first one being a homage to Flappy Bird. Then in Android 7.0 they had a cat game that was similar to Neko Atsume.
    Now with the launch of Android 14, the easter egg has gone into space with a exploration style game.
    We can find this new easter egg by first opening up the Settings application.
    Find the About Phone section down here at the bottom.
    And then we need to tap the Android Version option multiple times until we see the Android 14 logo.
    Now we're going to tap and hold on this new logo until the stars begin zoom by.
    Here is where the space exploration begins.
    This little thing right here is the ship we're controlling.
    And we can guide it in any direction we want.
    There aren't any missions to complete here as we're just meant to explore.
    We can see the data read-outs here giving us details about our thrusters, velocity numbers, and the coordinates in space.
    If you play this long enough you will eventually come across some stars.
    And then you can look around to find out if there are any celestial bodies orbiting around it.
      @@ExplainingAndroidalso, I noticed that the top text reads KitKat which is a reference to Android 4.4 KitKat and it probably points out one of the planets or stars, maybe the other planets and stars will be named after the previous Android versions (Lollipop, marshmallow, Oreo etc...), That would be cool !
    0,0 coordinates are not the main goal, its also pretty impossible to hit exact 0,0 coords (I wasted a lot of time on this)
    Its basically the location of the star. Its a very big star, so you would meet the star anyway before hitting 0,0
    The "bodies" are orbiting the star positoned at 0,0, they are planets. To get to a body, you have to follow the blue lines (not red lines). These are circular orbit lines, and eventually you'll hit a planet.
    Its a bit difficult to land at first as the spaceship just bounces off due to its high velocity, but if you keep trying you'll land. After landing you have to wait for some time till the spaceship stabilises, and at that point the data about the new planet will pop up. (If you land in a planet you've already landed before then it will appear as "LND: " above the coordinates.)
      The red lines represent the gradient of the celestial bodies gravitational field. If you get within the boundary of this field and remain near motionless you will gravitate towards the body.
    I had a planet in my solar system whose gravitational field overlapped with the path of another planet. I just did not have the patience to see if they would attract each other. But my guess is they would and if you let the simulation run for long enough eventually everything will collide into the centre of the solar system.
      @@ExplainingAndroid Took about an hour. I wasn't in a rush and was exploring the way gravity was implemented. The game is structured and sandboxed. There are hard limits to just how far your space ship can travel. Nothing happened after finding the last planet and I did try to reset the game to get a different system, didn't happen.
