Zinny, the man who plays football with his soul
He's my favorite player n the Arsenal side at the moment! I know that sounds funny but I really rate him and I like to watch how he plays. Very clever and technical player.
I have 11 favourite players in this team, but I know what you mean! A joy to watch and very consistent. What is so nice to see is that, like White and Partey, he is not demonstrative or in a flamboyant role, yet we all appreciate and admire him just as much as the more obvious "stars" of the team.
@@guycharles9105 indeed his role as a solt, not visible but not tasty without. And when he left game with brighton we could see how arsenal lost in game.

When he move to Man City in 2017, he came as an attacking midfielder, and it was Arteta’s idea 💡 to transform him into a left back, the idea of inverted fullback came from Arteta, not Pep, lets not forget that

Zinchenko is too good to be played at fullback I swear.
He is basically an extra midfielder when we are in possession. He does not play like a traditional fullback at all.

Pep loved him, but Zina was always his backup number. But in the last for two years, City fans understood that Zinchenko grew into a very cool player who can single-handedly bring victory to the team, which he proved in the last match of last season, coming on as a substitute and almost single-handedly turning the game around, making City a champion. The secret of what he so revealed in Arsenal - this is your love and trust. It is very important for him. He does not even count on the fact that the fans of the Gunners will treat him so well. Therefore, he reciprocates. And he will always do so if he feels respect and trust from you. Because he is a very sincere and good person. As a Ukrainian, I thank you all for this.

@@iykeharrison9161 they both have very different playstyles... KT leans more towards overlaps and good crossing... he waits for the tracking back because he wants to be there for the overlapping cross. He is better on the defense but thats only because his starting position is way more dropped back. whereas Zinny, as we know cuts inside more, he's given more creative freedom to make up for that overlap tactic but as soon as the attack starts to die he drops back... he doesnt need to stay up to cross, its not his style... its obvious to compare the 2 because both are LBs for the same team but they both play the position very very differently. to the point where its actually difficult, once you look into the tactical understanding of both, to actually compare them like for like.
Zinny is fucking clean on the ball. I was sad to see him leave us. As a City fan, when he's healthy Zinny is the reason I'll watch Arsenal games. Favorite full back to watch, and one of the best in the world at his position

I think he WAS underrated, but with Arteta playing the same system for a couple of seasons, Arsenal fans know almost as well as the players what works and what doesn't, and he fits perfectly here - offensively we control games so much better when he plays. Yes I'm sure outsiders underrate him, but read the Gooner comments. We have no standout superstars, just 11 equally valued and admired stars.

Not just his individual skills with the ball at his feet but those long or cross field passes are absolutely phenomenal. I think we totally robbed City of him really, I cannot believe they let him go.

Not a great defensive fullback like Tomi, not an auxiliary winger like Tierney, but a positionally astute and technically superb midfield with quick feet who perfectly suits our attacking style. Martinelli benefits hugely when he plays and we rarely lose control of the midfield. A fantastic signing if we can keep him fit.
Couldn't have said it any better
I noticed he defends with his intelligence (using anticipation to read opponents and intercept passes, clear tackles with minimum of harsh). He looks like Fabregas when played from the deep but a lot better in defence than Fabregas. Also often Zinny doesn't get options to play through-balls somewhere between 6 yard and penalty box's corners, forwards don't make runs for that passing options often when he's in open position and not attacked. If he will get such options more and be brave and confident to take such passes, maybe he could pass through-balls into penalty box area as good as Cesc in his prime or close to Cesc from the deep position. That could give one more dangerous weapon to Arsenal. As Tierney not so good with it and Arsenal doesn't have classical big striker to play many crosses.

Cant defend for shit but boy he singlehandedly takes us up so many levels with our first phase build up ..its why we find it easy to break down and dominate teams wen he plays ..he transmits confidence into the team
With Zinchenko, we can have 70% possession, which means we only defend 30% of the times.
With Tierney/Tomiyasu, we need to defend 60% of the times.
That’s why we are better off in defending when zinchenko is here.

Hope he is back in peak condition with the break. If he stays fit for rest of season it's a huge plus. Partey absence can maybe be part mitigated by him tucking in if he can get good Elneny chemistry going? He is a slick footballer
He's fantastic to watch as an Arsenal fan. His defensive side is questionable sometimes but what he brings to the midfield and helping to ease the pressure is absolutely invaluable. It's no co-incidence we look better as a team when he's around.
