In July 2015 I moved from Strasbourg, France to Sydney, Australia to study for a year. My girlfriend of five years left me after two months of being apart, and I became totally depressed. A month later the Paris attacks took place and made me feel even worse. A good Egyptian friend showed me this live set. The depth and melancholy of David's music helped me deal with my emotions, and I managed to climb out of that depression hole.
After that year I lived in Montréal, Glasgow, and I now live in New York, with a girl I met when I was in Sydney. Life's crazy. Vielen dank, David !!

"Regarding the Boiler Room tracklist:
There isn't actually a proper tracklist. What the set contains is *mostly spare material*/edits of my studio work which I used sometimes in live sets and never released.
But as it felt sad to leave this music in the darkness I decided to use the opportunity to play it.
Nearly all tracks *will remain unreleased* as I think that this is the only way the set will stand for itself in the future.
Thank you for all the nice messages and your great feedback. It's your appreciation that keeps artists alive and what gives us the irreplaceable energy and motivation to carry on.

Like so many others wrote here before me, this set is really the soundtrack of my life.
In 2015, after obsessively listening to it on repeat, I’ve finally went to see David playing live.
I was in such a rough spot, seriously, if it wasn't for him, I probably wouldn't have left my house, nowhere.
Couldn’t miss the chance of him visiting my city.
Ended up meeting my future husband at that gig. Call it fate or whatever, but good vibes attract good vibes, right? This is this set, this is David August.
He literally changed my life. Like some magical, supernatural musical wizard. Forever grateful.
Got a forever spot in my heart, just like this set does.

Honestly, I never post anything anywhere. But this damn set deserves it so much, it accompanied me through so much. Discovered it around 6 years ago right before I started studying. I swear in every study phase I've listened to this every day, many times on repeat, studying some stuff i didn't understand at all haha! David I give you credit for me achieving my degree and hopefully soon my second. Will listen to you till the very last exam is over. Pure genius.

As so many others, I keep returning to this wonderful extraordinary set again and again. It kind of creates a community over time, doesn't it? Some of us have strong memories connected to this set. Some of these memories are memories of the past and some are yet to be made. Although this set is has become like a cosmic constant in our lives, it seems to change over time, but only because we the listeners change over time, also changed by the set itself again and again.

Heard this set back in 2014 live on Fusion, it was one of the best moments in my life. Always getting goosebumps and I refeel the Moment. During the set it rained heavily and the sun came out, again and again back and forth. Sun, rain, thunders and random people hugging and laughing to each other enjoying every second. In his set he did not just control the music but also the weather and the whole world around us it was so magical. Thank you so much for this, I never had the chance to tell you directly! From all of us sharing this moment to you!
Just a brilliant set. It's amazing how many fools on this thread try to tear it apart, as though they're some sort of an authority. i.e. 'The way he moves is stupid, or even better, he's just mixing tracks!' It's a Boiler room 'DJ' set, not a Rolling Stones gig! Also many of the tracks are his I believe.

THAT WAS ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL PIECES OF MUSIC I EVER HEARD..... LIKE MANNNNN WOAHHH!!! literally chills every few minutes... this sound is seriously on a different level... this is where the bar is set from this year and onwards... if i were to hear this live, dancing under an open star lit sky, i just might have to cry at some moments.. it was literally that beautiful, meloncholic, yet funky, soulful, and most certainly original... and i hope the rest of the people who hear this can appreciate it the same way.
