This is me too! I thought I was mentally ill. Psalm 3 helps- I still suffer so much. Help. I also get angry easily. 😞

Medicine caused my son to have psychosis then he had to take a 2nd medicine to get through the side effects from the first medicine then there were serious side effects from the 2nd medicine. Which caused him to become physically ill & mentally worse. He's been off all meds for over one-two weeks now and refuses to ever take meds. again. I believe Gods word, extensive therapy, diet, exercise and family support can help a person get well again. Drs said "he did not have any psychosis, mania, bipolar, OCD or schizophrenia". But as soon as he took one pill it changed him within one hour. Pills made him worse!

There is a face help group called "Religious OCD Has Healing and Forgiveness", anyone who needs help and guidance can ask to join the group and they will receive guidance.

Thank you for your desire to help people, however, as someone who struggles I must be honest. This style of teaching will not equip counselors to meet the needs of those with OCD. This does not convey the level of trauma that comes with OCD. It’s being taught in a logical way, but OCD by nature is not logical. The student is not going to be prepared at all when they are faced with an OCD patient. You can NOT treat with logic. Those being trained are getting facts here and nothing else. The intense emotions and debilitating feelings from the thoughts are not being conveyed at all. It would be far more helpful to have someone with OCD come and speak to the class to properly convey what it is like. You have great facts here, but facts alone will not prepare the counselor.

In 65% of twins that have OCD, both have it. OCD is genetic. It can occur from issues with the COMMT gene, along with other genes. Some people find relief from OCD by treatment of certain vitamins, minerals, and amino acids but not all. God allows us to suffer through these things for His glory. His grace is sufficient for us with it. But it's certainly not an evil spirit otherwise I would've been cured 4 years ago.

I get my theology from the bible. Christ says to cast out demons.
