this is a... uh... another game mode I guess??
codenamed pac-man bullshit mode because there are as many ghosts as in pacmania, ghosts move the way they do in ms. pac-man, you can jump and so can the funkys/spunkys, you cycle through all the mazes in ms. pac-man, and jr. pac-man, and who knows what comes next
it's NOT pac-man plus, I just borrowed the color scheme because it looked cool
maybe I can throw in some main menu and make it look like an actual polished game lol
might change the name because pac-man 5 is too misleading and stupid

Well those two were too intrinsically different and they ran on a different engine so they were never part of the plan. Down to it's core, all these pac-man games are just modifications of the same Pac-Man game.

Well, You can use various of the powers from those games instead. (Like Super Pacman with the Super Pellet and Pac N Pal with the Powers during the levels).

RECOMMENDED UPDATE!!! Make these options:
Mini: Zooms out to see the entire maze.
Multiplayer: Allows 2 or 3 players to play alternatively or cooperative. Players 2 and 3 will be the characters from the other games. For cooperative mode MINI MODE IS REQUIRED unless you can do split-screen. :)

would be cool if you added eyes to match their personalities. clyde derpy, blinky determined, pinky sly, inky carefree, sue looks perfect how she is. i'm impressed with what you have done here, love the dot pulse and the jump mechanic :)

Hey, here are some of my reccomended thing that you can (maybe) add. I'm a huge pac-fanatic, so expect a ton:
-Skins
This adds different looks to the game. These include: Reimagined (Default), Classic, Arrangement, and also Mania. You can guess what they'll look like, I know it will take a ton of time, it's just a reccomendation. :)
-More options/improved options
Adds these options:
Multiplayer Pac-Man - Only able to be played without multi ghost mode active. Adds a green pac-man that is controlled with WASD. When both pacs are too far off the screen, they will go into split screen, until they are back near each other again.
Pellets - Allows the player to change if there can be big pellets, that slow the player down more, but give more points.
Power Pellet Amount - Allows you to change if you want 2-8 Power Pellets in the maze at once.
Bosses - Before every cutscene, a boss will pop up. First a giant Blinky, then Pinky, Inky, and Clyde, then some others until the final one until its random. The final one is the final boss from Pac-Man Arrangement, the Robo Ghost.
And improves these options:
Ghosts - Allows for the player to add as much of any amount of a ghost in the maze, if it doesn't go over the maxinum of 10. Along with that, adds Kinky (The golden ghost) Tim (A similar ghost to Clyde, is slightly a darker shade of orange.), and also maybe some custom ghosts, like these: Caeky (Inky pattern), Schemey (A more strategic pattern, and will try to catch pac-man by cornering them.), and Dazey (Random)
Lives - Allows the player to be able to change lives from 1-10.
Modes - Adds Super Pac-Man to the mix. This is a little overkill, but would be nice. Along with that, Versus Mode. This is a 4 player minigame, and this allows players to choose a ghost (for color) and then it works similar to Pac Man VS. It randomly cycles between players being pac-man, and then the ghosts fighting each other to catch them. Ghosts can move like pac-man, and everyone can jump.
And that's all that I can think of. I would appreciate it if you added it, it would be cool to have!
That's kind of a lot of stuff to digest and I don't think they're really doable right now, but-- I'll keep 'em in mind when I go back to working on this game.
At some point later this year maybe.

the ghosts names are Blinky, Pinky, Inky, Clyde, Sue (purple), Funky x2 (green), Spunky x2 (grey), and yum-yum. funky and spunky are able to jump alla pacmania
elPatrixF does the bonus double by 200, 400, 800, 1600, 3200, 6400, 12800, 25600, 51200, and 102400, or is there a bonus limit?
yeah the bonus cap is 7650
if i recall correctly it goes all the way to 3200 then every subsequent bonus is worth 7650 points
Here's an Idea, rename "Pac Man 5" to "Pac-Man Remix"! However, the logos will change depending on the themes chosen. I.E. When its "Ms. Pac Man", the title will read "Ms. Pac Man Remix". Also, add little copyrights to each of the games' dates.
Seriously, this is just not a Pac-Clone, this feels like a real game, it is faithful to the source materials, everything flows perfectly and feels like you're playing a rearranged version of the classic dot eating arcade game.
There already is an official mobile game called Pac-Man Remix
pretty sure namco already has an offical game by that name, which is actually pac-man arrangement (psp/x360) under a different name, to avoid confusion with pac-man arrangement (arcade/ps2/gc/xbox)
I know this is old but what would Yum-Yum’s behavior be? Would she chase Pac-Man directly like her father Blinky?
As far as I remember, Yum-yum's behaviour is to chase Blinky actually. Since Blinky chases pac-man, it would appear similar.

Okay, the jumping mechanic is there, but how will you be able to tell where you're going to land? All I can see is Pac-Man's sprite being offset--kinda confusing, don't you think?

Maybe you can answer this question for me. What exactly is Sue and the Funky/Spunky ghosts targeting ai in Pac Mania? Are they following Sue which just chases you like Blinky?
honestly I don't remember right now but I think that in Pac Mania they just target pac-man, like sue, like blinky. That's the reason why they usually end up grouped together.
Some peeps say that spunky (gray) follows blinky, while funky (green) follows sue, but I'm not really sure that's the case.
If I remember correctly, in this remake, funky targets pacman, and spunky does too. But their speeds vary slightly so that they distance from each other after some time.
They do the 180 degree turn when they enter into scatter mode, as expected, but they always target pac-man, like Sue does.
Also, yum-yum always targets Blinky, but that's another story.

Would you add a plus option to allow a ms pacman plus or jr pacman plus? that mean some times when you eat a power pellet, 1. one of the ghosts dont turn blue 2. the maze becomes invisible. and dont forget the change of maze colors (maybe on plus mode and you select dance pacman, can you make the maze red?) and when a fruit target is collected all ghosts are invisible yet edible.
Can you do that?

How many Pac-Dots do you need to eat so blinky's mad?
It varies as you advance stages but initially he goes mad when there's 20 dots remaining, then on level 2 when there's 30 dots remaining, then on levels 3 thru 5 when there's 40 dots remaining, then on levels 6 thru 8 when there's 60 dots remaining, and so on. Caps on level 19 where he gets mad when there's 120 dots remaining.

what causes the 'angry eyes' on the ghosts
basically cruise elroy mode. Blinky gets angry when there's only few dots remaining to be eaten, and moves slightly faster. This happens earlier and earlier as the game progresses.

Where did you get the SFX for the game?
I ripped them myself from mame. Used savestates, re-records and subtracting audio to remove the music and get clean samples. ah and the jump sounds are from pacmania of course.
Are you gonna add super pacman, pac & pal, etc? that'd be great. You coult make miru (the ghost from pac and pal) another addable ghost. please get back to me.
eh, not too sure about pac&pal and super pacman, the game formula is *quite* different (it's still sorta the same thing but there's a lot of stuff to add and physically it's not even the same engine) and not documented enough to provide an accurate comparison (also i haven't played them much myself at all, original pac-man is more fun).

If it doesn't happen all the time then it's probably an issue with the sound system and I cannot really do anything about it yet.
Wait, it *is* actually a bug. I just tried it myself and it did crash on the big pellet.
I am most definitely sure it's something to do with the audio code but yeah, I'll have to find a workaround myself.
I'll address it in the next update-- whenever it happens.
