I remember my son suddenly cannot stand and walk but can kick and sit. He had fever before that. It lasted for 3 days, of unable to walk and stand. I was so worried. When we came to see a doctor, he suddenly able to walk and even run. Doctor said it was a hip infection. It was a terrifying experience.

Not all leg pain in children is growing pains!!! I was diagnosed with “growing pains” because I had severe leg aching every day for 20 years until I moved out. I now think I had Lyme infections. I reached a grand height of 4’ 10”, and now I’m 4’ 9”. These pains went away until I was 63, had surgery and got pseudomonas aeriginosa from the hospital. They diagnosed it 8 weeks later, and the leg aching came back. I’m now 89, and have to take pain meds to relieve this. I also have RLS. It’s horrible, and I can’t figure out what made this come back.

I had terrible leg pains growing up. the only thing I could do to help was to keep my legs as still as possible, The slightest twich would cause my legs to to go back] to severe aching. My mom would want to rub my legs but I would not let her. I would be lying on the couch and someone would get up and it would move the cushion on the couch and my legs would go back to hurting more. maybe this info can help a child.
