    Hi Derek - it's Big Rodders in Ireland. A very impressive machine with great knife speed. However, I would prefer a longer knife to more effectively split the larger rounds even if the that resukted in reduced speed.

      @rodneysweetnam8653 Hey! Rodder! The size and price point are what makes her attractive. I'll get and post some pics of the dimensions.

    Great little machine. I’m shocked how fast it is. Like other commenters, I think a foot pedal would be safer- you can free up both hands to keep the block where it’s supposed to be. I like it!

    New Sub! Looking into getting the electric version this fall. How do you like the hand operated control? Would it be better with a foot pedal?

    Subscribed!! Very interested in this machine!! Thanks for sharing!
    How tall is the working table?
    I deal with a lot of really big tree service wood. I wonder how it would do with a really big round! (40" red oak). Probably would have to remove that guard on the front.

      @dereksstuff8395  Před 6 dny +2

      @@FirewoodInTheField Thanks! The table is 32" high. They also have the option for a side shelf (to the right) If I ever got a 40" round, I'd just bust it down with my skid loader mounted splitter (home made)

      Great machine! They should get moving on the foot pedal. Looks more dangerous with the hand lever and only one hand on the wood.

    • @thefirewooddoctor
      @thefirewooddoctor Před 7 dny +1

      Pretty sure they are going with a "knee" operates lever instead of a foot pedal. Inside info from someone getting one for review and testing purposes.

      Nice little machine, didn’t know split fire made a vertical splitter. I agree with the other comments about a foot pedal being safer, seeing your thumb wrapped around the piece to hold it up had me nervous 😂
