- I stand by my claim, " You get the best Seekh Kebabs in Mumbai at Sarvi". I visited Sarvi Restaurant after a while but I keep ordering food from here - so, I thought I should also introduce you to it. I have seen and visited here since I was a child in school.
I ate to my heart's content - Bheja fry, Tongue, Paya soup, Aab Gosht, Butter Chicken, and of course, my childhood favorite from Sarvi, The Seekh kebabs.
What a meal this was!

Hello from Canada, not only their seekh kebabs but, masoor pulav and biryani is awesome! I miss eating Sarvi. My dad was a frequent visitor and Raj Kapoor would visit the restaurant post midnight and would order seekh.
Some of these Resturants in Mumbai are so old! Here in America/Canada Resturants almost never survive this long, In India they must be doing something right! My Grandfather had food from this Resturant in the 1930s during british days can you imagine wow! He is long gone from this world now died in 1993, but somewhere up there he must be smiling looking at this video, because he loved food from here. Thanks Kunal! what a great show you have!
Like a True Mumbaikar, Raza saahab immediately identified the school Kunal went to based on the bus route from mazgaon. Bus routes are the only gps we need here in Mumbai

This brought back childhood memories. Our father used to get kababs from Sarvi and we really used to look forward to that treat. For us, they are and will always be the best Kababs ever:) Now we have decided to relive those memories by visiting Sarvi soon :)

I was a regular customer at Sarvi from 1965 till 2003 since I was also staying in Mazgaon then. I was very fond of those seekhs along with tandoori roti and their green chutney. Each time I used to order different dishes. But along with that Seekhs and tandoori was a must. But this used to happen during daytime. For very late at night I used to visit Bachhubhai wadi for seekh paratha which also were very tasty.
Now that I have shifted to Navi Mumbai though But I still visit Sarvi occasionally. Sometimes our Welfare Association members fix our meetings at this place where we discuss as well as refresh our old memories.
Which area do you think is best! Navi Mumbai or Bombay?

@@TruthTriumphs786 navi mumbai is planned city and developed in mid 80's whereas this area of mumbai is south mumbai which has all old design building dating to british era. Most of them are 100 years old. And it has close proximity to mumbai markets such as crawford market (for elecronics and cloths), nagdevi market (for engg tools). Mumbai central station is walkable distance. Navi mumbai was once good due to low density of people and planned infra but now its too much crowded.
The only biggest drawback of living in south mumbai is the size of houses which are very small. rates to own a house in south mumbai is v.v high. A small room (which mumbaikars call as kholi) of approx 12 feet x 12 feet in any old building too cost around 32- 35 lakhs. And the rent of that room if rented would cost 12000/- per month. Thats the reason many people are forced to live at outer part of city and they travel 2 hours to and fro to their jobs in city.

During our 1st yr of Engineering at Saboo siddik college in 2008, our group used to go every day for lunch at sarvi and have it's Seekh kebab, kofta . They were really soft and lovely.
From 98 batch , every jumma pakka tha

I am now 67 and was staying in diamond lodge nagpada and studing in modern english school and did my primary schooling.I will never forget the sarvi restuarant. Now i am in Goa.

Today i am 68 when i was 6 my father take me to SARVI everyday @ 10 breakfast aabgosht + seekh kabab & at 1pm lunch zaban masala + sekh kabab it was for 6 years bcoz my school was beside to sarvi modern english high school still i go to sarvi with my wife & chidren all the dishes are erani recipes even tanduri roti wao
Wow must be so nostalgic. You should keep visiting and keep making more beautiful memories for yourself as well as for the family.
My dad saw this video and took us on a trip down the memory lane with him about this place, that both parents used to frequent when they were young.
We are currently planning to go there for a meal as a family, this week 😁
Sarvi is our absolute favourite for seekh and more ..... And it's such a value for money proposition!! No other restaurant compares in terms of the superb taste that these guys give. Mouth watering episode this was!! Thanx Kunal and team. 😋😋😋😋

Pls cover original Irani hotel Sikandari Opp Pydhonie Police Stn. Which serves authentic Irani keema with small naan and fry potatoes. One of the very old hotel still in old shape.

My memories are refreshed by watching your videos. I have enjoyed the delicious dishes of irani restaurant, Parsi food and of course all most enjoyed food at Sarvi. Delhi Durbar etc I am old and sick now at 79 years. But I still treasure the bygone years.

It doesn't feel nostalgic at all. And I really thank my stars for it. I've been eating at this place since my childhood. As has my father, and his father too. I went to St. Mary's too, then completed my graduation from Saboo Siddik college, which meant I could go to Sarvi for lunch and still not miss a class. In fact I was eating from here just yesterday. The video is amazing though. Captures every essence that this place is about. I hope I never have to feel nostalgic about Sarvi ever.
1986 to 1992 was in Maharashtra College a stone throwing distance from Sarvi...morning brkfast Sarvi mein aor lunch Arabia Restaurant..which is after Maharashtra college Morland Road Junction...both have dellicious dishes..
My childhood memory too ..45yrs ago..my Dad use to take parcel from Sarvi coming back from phuppi 's house from Dunkan road To home at Belasis road above Arabia hotel...now I have shifted to Aurangabad, missing those days...

I first visited Sarvi on my first day in Mumbai in 1965 and then followed regular forays until I graduated and left in 1976. It was as always Seekhs and Naans for me. Thank you, Sir for this nostalgic video. You sure have a way with words 👍👌🏿👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
