    I came across your You tube tutorials just recently. Am a retired RN. Also lost my very elderly dad to MM 3 years ago. Lots of different cancers seem to " run" in my family so I do everything I can stay healthy and also tend to try to stay aware of evidence based data regarding different cancers .
    I really appreciate your teaching method, your attitude and sure wish these resources had been available back in the dark ages when I went to college. Thank you!.

    Enlarged, cancerous lymph nodes are not always completely absent of pain. While they may not be painful as seen in acute infections, they can be tender or "sore' feeling.

      It can be used, but core-needle provides a larger tissue which increases the likelihood of detection of cancer cells.

    Why FNAC not allow to diagnose lymphoma? Doesn't fnac also reliable and quite accurate to test whether a swollen lymph node is cancerous or lymphoma

    • @MedicosisPerfectionalis
      @MedicosisPerfectionalis  Před 4 lety

      The sample size is usually not sufficient when you use FNA for lymphoma.
      Also, what do you mean by cancerous or lymphoma? Lymphoma is cancer.

    • @simonlimon4906
      @simonlimon4906 Před 3 lety +1

      The FNA comment in this video is incorrect.
      FNA’s are utilized to help diagnose lymphoma. I should know, I do them almost daily. While diagnosing off of a slide can be difficult, we utilize flow cytometry to narrow down the exact sub type.
      Excision is not the only way to diagnose, and in some cases is not the best practice and instead contraindicated for some patients. Fna is safer, faster, cheaper.

    Your FNA comment is flat out false. FNA is almost always the first step when assessing for malignancy vs benign. If there is a suspicion for lymphoma after the first few passes have been observed under glass, then any additional passes can be put into RPMI and submitted for flow cytometry. This video needs an update to address that protocol
