He's got a negative wingspan, which hurts defensively. but offensively, it seems to help him alot. His dribble is low and close to the body and his shot motion is very quick, compact, high and fluid. I think most coaches will be ok with that compromise, he's a shooter
people are making a huge mistake writing this kid off. Surround him with the right people/environment and he could strive. Would love to see him at Michigan with Dickinson.
@@rambobrazy8411 Bro it's cool that you're a fan of him and all but there is really no denying that he was disappointing this season. @@presley.25 nah, I donât know the guy, could be a genius for all I know. He just always seems to have a dull empty look in his eyes and an open slack jaw.
Iâve coached against him and watched him play several times in AAU. Reclassifying to 2021 was a mistake. Give the kid credit how many 17 year olds do you see play high major D1? He certainly has talent but hereâs the problem: every team he has been on until Memphis he was able to shoot 35+ shots a game. He almost makes the game more difficult then it needs to be at his size with step back 25 foot fade away threes and such. All the great scorers (MJ, Kobe, etc.) were able to get 20 of their 30+ points off drawing fouls or simple shots in the mid range. He takes insanely difficult shots. Additionally his teams were always lacking touches and talent because heâs such a ball dominant scorer. It was very telling how much better Memphis was when he didnât play (they went from 500 to making the tourney). I hope he kills it at EMU but If he doesnât dominate and I mean DOMINATE the MAC mark my words he will go late second round at best if heâs drafted at all. This is a tragic story about why calling a 15 year old the next kevin Durant rarely turns out well.
Except KD is 6'11 with a 7'5 wingspan. Also a better athlete imo. Emoni is 6'8 with a negative wingspan. At this point he is in no way similar to KD whether it be physically or style of play.
Bates plays exactly Like Adam Morrison! I had to go watch Morrisonâs highlights to make sure I wasnât going crazy. If Bates is humble enough, he will have a lucrative and comfortable career playing overseas.
I love emoni but the KD comparison gotta chill.....we'll probably never get another KD for a long time...closest players coming out in the last few years to match KD skillset is MPJ and Tatum. Remember KD avg 30 in college and then went out and dropped 24 in a USA prelimary at 18
keep in mind that emoni is supposed to be a junior in HS. heâs playing against 21-22 year olds.
