  • • The Primary Health Care Infrastructure in rural areas has been
    developed as a three tier system ( The Primary tier )
    • The three pillars of Primary Health Care System includes SCs, PHCs
    and CHCs.
    Sub-Centre
    • A Sub-Centre / Sub-Health Centre is the most peripheral and first
    point of contact between the primary health care system and the
    community.
    • Sub-Centre is the peripheral outpost of the existing Health
    Care Delivery System in rural areas of India.
    • ‘6’ Sub-centres are connected with one P.H.C.
    Population coverage
    • ‘5,000’ in general / Plain area
    • ‘3,000’ - Hilly / Tribal / Backward area
    Types (as per IPHS-2012 revised)
    • Type A - No facility for conducting deliveries.
    • Type B - Facilities for conducting deliveries (20/month)
    Staffs
     Male Health worker - 01
     Female Multipurpose Health Worker / ANM - 01.
     One Safai Karmachari / Sweeper ( Part-time - IPHS-2012)
    • Supported by a Village Health Post (VHG, Dais & AWWs)
