This is exactly the stitch I need for moss! Along with drizzle, colonial knots and the tendrils. Yes! Super excited about trying this out, and I will try it out on every thread I have!

Finally something to do when my thread gets all twisted! 😂
I love that stitch. And I’ll track down that drizzle stitch too. Perfect for today since we’re getting a thunderstorm at the minute. Jan

It is such a from stitch. I’m glad you like it. I show the drizzle here czcams.com/video/VLCLeL_amYI/video.html and in a couple of other videos.

@@SusanTaylorBrown it’s just the stitch I didn’t know I needed. I’ve made a redbud tree and used beads for the blooms for dimension. This stitch will be perfect to add bulk without adding weight. I’m so glad I don’t need to make piles of French knots! 😂

My mom was a researcher for the Metropolitan Museum of Arts costume department in NYC and she showed my theses in some of the gowns. Doubt she knew the stitch but we did notice them. Very cool effect. Looks hard but the spiral effect is really beautiful!! I’m going to practice.

Oh what a amazing things you must have seen with your mom. The stitch is actually much easier than it looks. I really like it with 6 strands of wool. So fuzzy!

We haven't seen a ton of it so I'm looking forward to seeing how people use it in all their own unique ways. And thank you for your kind words about my moss garden forest piece that I really need to name soon.

Could it works as nice just by over twisting the thread Z or S as it has been first spun ? Why is is necessary to undo for counter twist ? I certainely have to test by myself. Thank you for sharing.

Just twist it toward you, pull the thread up and twist it toward you over and over and over again. It’s a lot of fun to do this stitch. I’m glad you like it.

I think you might be referring to the bullion knots. They can look ropes.
