United Airlines has been going through a rough patch lately. Just before this unusual series of events began taking place, I took three flights with the carrier on a trip to Dallas. This is the first of those three and it takes us from Chicago to DFW on a nearly 30-year-old A320. What I didn't realize at the time is that this was the 500th A320 built by Airbus!

US Airlines undeniably have the best apps. Not only are they aesthetically pleasing, but they also show important information about your flight in an organized manner! 😄😄

I flew on an old UA A320 (former TED aircraft N490UA) and it was actually in very great condition. Of course you can tell it's an aged cabin but it is very well kept. Edit: I flew it back in November and the aircraft is now in storage.

One of the reasons why the legroom is tight is the design of these Recaro seats. The Collins seats found on the 737s have a curvier design and the contouring allowed for a more tolerable legroom.

Believe the construction near concourse C is for the two new satellite terminals. Those are to be built first before T2 is demolished for the Global Terminal.

You know I was on an a320 in February on a flight from DCA to ORD and when I boarded, I saw a dude asking if they could meet the pilots in the cockpit. For a second, I thought that person was you. lol

I prefer AA only because of how easy it is to reach oneworld elite in a foreign program and flying them domestically, otherwise they're equally loved. My next 2 United flights are going to be both on 737's to and from O'Hare next month. We'll see what cabins I get when I upload those videos. In the meantime, I'll be uploading my flight on the 8,000th 737 ever made, this coming Sunday.

Its way to early to tell what actually happened on most of these tings. Like for example, people thought that United/Boeing didn't tighten the nuts on the wheel that fell off of the 777. That is not true at all, the wheel rim itself broke (and the nuts where still in place), which is manufactured by someone completely different from Boeing and United. ie this was internal part failure.

The seat padding on the airbus planes on UA are among the most comfortable i have experienced even beating delta's product on the B739. They don't look comfortable but they are. I only wish the low cost airlines would use this type of seat because of the good paddding.

@@ASAviation the a319s of United are typically somewhat newer than the A320s, so maybe there was an update to the seats in between the times United received them with those seats

@@ASAviation Ok so I recently found out why the UA A319 I flew on had power outlets. Apparently the one I was on was one of the ex-China Southern A319s (N874UA), and these ones will have power outlets in all classes. I don't think their legacy A319s will have them.

I just flew back from LGA to ORD on Sunday evening in economy with the A320. I am really disappointed in the seat pitch and comfort compared to the 737-800 I took on the way to LGA. The pitch felt so much tighter, as did the width of the seat. You can tell that the same manufacturer makes the seats for Frontier. Highly disappointing for a "flagship"

I had no idea that the tunnel that connected concourses B and C in T1 was designed in partnership with Disney! That is one of my favorite areas to walk thru at O'Hare.
