- Video shows the dramatic moment a police officer discovered a three-year-old girl sitting alone in a dark parking lot, hours after she was taken in a stolen car. Caraline Leon-Alcocar was inside her mother's vehicle in Albuquerque, New Mexico, but when her mom got out run a quick errand, a thief jumped into the vehicle and took off, police said. After hours of searching, Caraline was found just after 1 a.m. by Officer Chris Poccia and the moment was captured on his lapel camera. #InsideEdition

He wanted the car, not the child
It's sad that you have to feel grateful that someone was just a car thief and not a kidnapper or killer or predator.
To all those saying bad things about the mother: I live in Albuquerque. I remember this story. The mother had pulled up in front of a store and was 3 feet away filling water jugs when the car was stolen. She did not leave her child in the car in a parking lot as she ran errands inside, as the video suggests. Now you know!
The cop who found her
At least he was like “I’m not gonna get charged for theft AND kidnapping”
This was 5 years ago and my heart is in my throat. So glad things turned out as they did. Poor baby girl.
"a ball of purple" lol that cute
Let’s all appreciate the fact he was only after the car, not the child
Thief: finally I stole it
GOD BLESS THIS POLICE OFFICER who noticed the child.
The way she stood up and whispered and held her arms up to this officer! Ohhhh my!!! 💔
Imagine the thief looking at these comments and be like "I did a good job. They love me."
i'm kinda thankful that the thief left her behind and didn't do anything horrible
Oh my god the sound of the mom's "did you find her AAAAH" brought tears to my eyes. That kid is loved.
Regardless of how you feel about police, you have to be thankful for this officer
You can tell that girl was totally relieved when she stood up for the officer
The guy stealing the car was more responsible than the mother who left her in the car.
How nice he was able to find her alive :D Not what they were expecting no doubt. Bless him
I don’t get why ANY parent would EVER leave a child in a vehicle. No excuse EVER
