I am moving to this region of the country next year and am loving these videos. You are a very thoughtful and calming narrator, and it just makes me more excited to explore this region in person.

I had hoped you would also cover the Deeter Family Cemetery in Deeters Gap. It has one headstone that is rather interesting. It is my understanding there had been Indian attacks on the original homestead. In addition to farming and some side endeavors, John also built a combination grist/sawmill on Deeter's Run. The remnants of the dam can still be found. in addition to where he quarried stone to carve the millstones he sold throughout the area.

For any viewers who do not know ~ when a person is buried somewhere other than where a stone is erected in their honor, the stone is engraved with "In Memory Of . . .". Only if the person is known to be buried on the spot where the stone is erected does the wording simply contain the birth and death dates, without the phrase "In Memory Of...".
