  • Explore the haunting grounds of Auschwitz-Birkenau in this gut-wrenching but necessary tour. Join us as we delve into the history of one of the most notorious concentration camps of World War II, reflecting on the atrocities that took place here. Witness firsthand the somber reminders of the past and pay tribute to the lives lost in this unforgettable experience. This tour serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of preserving the memory of the Holocaust and educating future generations. Prepare yourself for a journey that is both heartbreaking and essential.
Auschwitz-Birkenau is about 70 km (43 miles) west of Krakow, Poland. Our Krakow Auschwitz-Birkenau Guided Tour was booked via Expedia and was ran by activity provider SuperCracow.com. I booked the skip the line, pick-up and return option from Krakow with lunch for two at a cost of $89. The entire tour with pick-up and drop off took about 7,5 hours; the bus arrived on time, was comfortable and clean.
Important information: What to bring: Passport or ID card and comfortable shoes. There will be a lot of walking and not suitable for wheelchairs.
You will be given headsets upon arrival at Auschwitz I and the museum educator will conduct both tours. We never felt rushed and she gave insight into the exhibits as well as the open air camp at Birkenau (no headsets for this portion of the tour), yet I highly recommend.
Things that were not allowed: luggage or large bags, smoking, pets, short skirts, oversize luggage, sleeveless shirts and large backpacks.
