I said from the start I wanted to do PP. my MSW profs Poo pooed me but here I am, happy, healthy, thriving, and helping my community in ways CMH never allowed me to do during candidacy. No regrets.
I had all these stages but was like sink or swim!
I am in school to go into PP too. CMH will be a part of my journey, of course, but PP is my end goal. Did you wait until you were licensed to go into PP or did you work for a PP post graduation?
@@momoftwosweetkids I went to CMH to learn as much as I could in a short period of time. I learned what I resonated with and it turned out to be trauma. As soon as I got licensed I joined a group. It was a waste of my time. Should have just gone into Pp right away. But it worked out. Never slowed down since going pp
Thank you for normalizing these stages. As someone in those scary first few months of private practice, seeing the lack of clients and wondering if this was a big mistake, it helps to hear that it's just part of the process 😊

Finding these videos inspiring. I launched my PP in April (the checklist was helpful!) and still only have 1 client but I'm maintaining hope and doing important work in the meantime of networking, tweaking marketing, learning bookkeeping, etc. Glad I kept my day job to ramp up slowly, though, as that alleviates most of anxiety.
I’m one of those that entered school with the sole intention of going into pp as soon as I can. I really appreciate your optimism and I’d love to see you make a video on specific marketing techniques that are commonly used to build practices. I tend to be methodical so having an idea of which techniques foster greater results will give me an idea of just how I should throw my net. As always, thank you for what you do! I find your videos to be informative and helpful!
