Am I the only who prefers this note way more “LIVE” 0:45 then the studio version I’ve always thought this note 0:13 on the actual song sounds raspy and the live attempts sound clear and resonant 👏🏼😍
The problem with we belong together is it shouldn't have this much weight in that note. That note needs to be lighter, so Mariah can't do her normal chest dominated belts.
They're very different in their setups: WBT comes right after a phrased climax and the final line starts low and then jumps to a D5-C5 with no breaks. WCC has a break on the final line which is shorter btw to allow for more air
I would prefer if she used a mix voice to achieve the C5 note like the 2010 concert. It sounds more melodious than using a chest voice. Chest voice make the resonance become more like a scream.
2017 is underrated because she was SO consistent. She hit that note every single night on that tour!
