    You guys are great at explaining the creation, conversion, and digitizing process, step-by-step, that's required to embroider an image/logo. It's amazing that folk will charge upwards of $30-$40 to do this. I wish you and your daughter success. More vids please.

    I found y'all's channel because of Inkscape/Inkstitch and the trouble I was having trying to figure things out from the official tutorials.
    I haven't watched all of your tutorials yet but just this one and the one about Bitmap Tracing have helped me to create my first embroidery design and I'm looking forward to making more of them. So thank you very much for the tutorials.

    It's refreshing to see a Dad and Daughter project, let's learn together. It's a great idea and very refreshing. in regards to the training, clear and concise. I was looking for embroidery files for a friend of mine as to how to make one, or export one that they could use when I came across this one. it answered all my questions. I'm not an Inkscape user (more Vcarve and Lightburn) for my cnc router and laser. you have to limit your software expertise so you can use one or two very well, and just export what is needed for your machine. lastly, I actually took an .svg file from my Vcarve software, and imported it to Inkscape, no work done to it, went straight to InkStich and made an .pes file. perfect. Thank you. have fun, embrace, as they are not young for long.

    hi, thanks for your video, very informative and helpful ! do you know by any chance if the followings functions are available in inkspace (they come from the bernina software) : globe effect, 3D effect, fluffy letters effect, distortion effect (seen on the bernina B880), trapunto effect, color wheel/shuffling, being able to remove any jump stitch, being able to group the colors so you don't have to change the bobbins as much, being able to choose the direction and form of the stitches inside a design and so on ? Thanks a lot !

    • @ProjectAnonymous_Duo
      @ProjectAnonymous_Duo  Před 2 lety

      Hello there, thanks for watching! Of the effects you mentioned, there are only a few that Inkstitch has natively (ability to program cutting jump stitches (though this doesn't work with our machine, Brother SE1900), grouping of colors, and direction of stitch). Grouping of colors is actually more of a manual process of organizing your design, but it does the trick... direction of stitch is adjustable by degree of stitch angle in params. This is very rudimentary embroidery software, and does not have all the effects that you could find in paid embroidery software. Hope this helps!

  • @dr8997
    @dr8997 Před 2 lety

    thnx so much for this vid. not sure if you'll see this but is there anyway to plan the stitch path to save thread from jumping all over the workspace?

    • @ProjectAnonymous_Duo
      @ProjectAnonymous_Duo  Před 2 lety

      Thanks for watching! You can organize by color and objects by stacking objects in the order you want them to stitch out (inkstitch>edit>restacking…) you can also program jump stitch cutting within your design, but that feature doesn’t seem to work with our machine (brother SE1900), those settings also found in the ink stitch >edit. Hope this helps!

    • @ProjectAnonymous_Duo
      @ProjectAnonymous_Duo  Před 2 lety

      The tracing (black lines) does not need to be included in your embroidery. It is however necessary to define your full shape. Once you are complete with your tracing, and filled it with color, you can select the object and hit “shift” and the “X” in the far left of your color palette. Hope this helps!

    Hey guys!! Appreciate all the hep from your channel! I have 1 random question.. I have an already digitized file I opened in inkstitch and wanted to make it a bit bigger for a hat so increased it from 4 inches to 4.75 inches. Well it keeps the same stitch out, correct? so the density needs increased quite a bit right. So I open params and its a running stitch so I want to change the zig zag stitch from .4 to maybe .3 or .2 to increase the density? Does that make sense or sound correct? If so, when I do that the stitch out/density doesn't change at all. Am I doing it all wrong? or need to change something? I cannot figure it out at all. I would greatly appreciate any help you could give. Thanks again guys!!

      Thanks for watching! No, if you increase the size of the .svg file and reexport as a .pes, the stitch density should readjust itself to give your same param settings. Hope this helps!

    Thank you so much for this helpful video! One question, What format does my image need to be in in order to export to inkscape? I keep trying and it is giving me an error message.

      I’m glad our videos could help you! We’ve been able to import .png’s and .jpg’s, but you can find other formats that you can import and export on the Ink/Stitch website: inkstitch.org/docs/file-formats/. Hope this helps!

    Does anybody know if you can change a PDF file into a PES file for a baby lock sewing machine?
    I noticed on the list they had for a brother machine but I didn’t notice any baby lock on the ink stitch list for saving files.

    • @ProjectAnonymous_Duo
      @ProjectAnonymous_Duo  Před 3 lety

      Interesting, can you expand on the context? Break apart function is used to undo a "combine," or to break apart text into individual letters for editing... What are you using it for?

    • @tylerbenderr
      @tylerbenderr Před 3 lety

      @@ProjectAnonymous_Duo I’ve found that I have the most success in avoiding border crossing issues when I 1) trace bitmap 2) break apart object 3) Params 4) embroider
      -if I wanted to embroider for example, an image of a donut, the donut would become a full black circle after clicking break apart. Thanks so much I hope this makes sense I love your vids!

    • @ProjectAnonymous_Duo
      @ProjectAnonymous_Duo  Před 3 lety

      Okay, gotcha! When you have a "hole" in your design, there is an easy way to solve this. After you break your image apart, you'll notice that the image, as well as "the hole" are highlighted as separate paths... while these are selected, you just need to go to "Path" then "Exclusion" and it should make your donut hole re-appear. Really hope this helps!

    great video, just one quick question. when i go to preview the design look sfine but the black border for the rabbit seems skiiny how can i do the satin sticth like you

    • @ProjectAnonymous_Duo
      @ProjectAnonymous_Duo  Před rokem

      Hi! If you want to make the border around the bunny bigger, you can click the “Object” menu at the top of the Inkscape window, then select “Fill and Stroke”. A new tab should appear at the right where you can select “Stroke Style”, from there you can increase the width. Hope this helps!

    Using the bezier tool, when I got back around to my first node, it turned my whole design black (solid) without negative space in the design. When you got back around to your first node, it just highlighted the object. What am I doing wrong?

    • @ProjectAnonymous_Duo
      @ProjectAnonymous_Duo  Před 4 měsíci

      Hi! You may have a fill color selected instead of a stroke on your design. In order to fix this, you can click the X on the left of the color palette and hold shift and press a color to have an outline. Thanks for watching, hope this helps!

      If you hold “shift” while selecting the “X” in the color pane, it will delete your satin (stroke) border. Hope this helps!

    Hello there! I enjoy your informative and fun videos. I utilize a mac and recently downloaded inkstitch's latest version. It's missing a good deal of the sub options you speak about. For example the embroidery params only give 3 auto options. This eliminates the option to bean the stitch etc. I am wondering if it's possible that my antivirus system prevented a full download. I used the forums to inquire, but haven't heard back. Do you guys know of a way around? Or do you know a source to upload the folders like you did on your video? They don't appear on the site anymore. Thanks a million!

      Hello there! Do you know what version of Inkscape & inkstitch you're running? Our install in this video is of an older version. Given how you describe it, it doesn't sound like your anti-virus prevented a full install, as typically if it did, you wouldn't be able to run params at all.
