Actually in 1980s Indian govt of that time started state sponsored terrorism in punjab for winning in elections. sikhs are a minority religion in india so 14 year long sikh genocide took place in punjab where police killed thousands of sikh youth in fake encounters leading to killing of Prime minister Indira Gandhi and sikh massacre in entire india. Till date no justice given to sikhs.
At that time Amar singh chamkila started rising in punjab as the greatest singer ever but he was killed by terrorists but many claimed that he is killed on the request of others singers who faced problems becuase everyone was only listening to Chamkila at that time.He was only 27 and was killed with his pregnant wife hope that clears the story. The story is similar to the recent killing of Sidhu moose wala last year He was also murdered at his peak. So yes punjabi music industry is dangerous.
