- Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton announced Tuesday he has been diagnosed with prostate cancer, a day after he passed out while delivering the State of the State address. On Monday night, Dayton was in the middle of his speech when he started slurring his words. Moments later, he slammed his head on the podium as he collapsed. Aides and lawmakers rushed in to help, laying him down on the floor. Earlier, the governor looked shaky as he walked into the house chamber and at one point stumbled. #InsideEdition

Saleh Albarrak no. After the ambulance came. They checked her sugar and blood pressure. She was fine. Since then I can’t never sleep well at night. I always keep my eyes on her. It happened wait too quick in second. She told me that suddenly she felt so weak , she saw purple color. She could not see any one around and she just didn’t feel anything. I was so lucky that she felt at the door so I could catch her on time but she was heavy so I put her by the door and holding her. Lucky there was 3 medical students who was there at right time and helped me. I hold her head from behind and cried. One student called 911. One student checked her pulse and one student tried to put the straw in her mouth and made she drunk. She did not know any thing like dying. I was so scared. She is only child and my everything.
Miami Lash: 1) Have her checked out by a neurologist. Get her a CT Scan of the entire head with and without contrast dye. Also get her a MRI. She needs a comprehensive optical evaluation and audio evaluation.
Has she been bitten any insects? Has she been eating anything different? What was her hemoglobin count? Did they do an EKG And EEG?
Her vision loss is most disturbing and alarming.
Time to retire and spend the rest of his life happy w family.
My husband has passed out twice and we were alone at the time. It was horrible to see my big, strong husband crumple like that. Being a woman, who needs to start weight lifting,but has very little upper body strength, I was afraid he would kill himself by striking his head as he fell! It was a good thing there were multiple people to help this poor man! God bless him and his family!

If you’re going to need to stand for a while, best bend your knees. It’s standard attention posture in the military for that reason.. there’s something about locking your knees that starts to restrict blood flood coming back from the legs and the brain starts to lose blood flow because of it.

I worked LP at a big box retailer and I was Red Cross first aid certified. About a half dozen times I had people faint. Lower the head, raise the arms and legs and they come to in no more than 10 seconds if it is just fainting.
Now that's how you move in to help!

When I was in the Navy, if we were standing at attention like in a very long change of command ceremony, I saw it more than once, if a person locks their knees for any length of time they would faint. I was a member of the color guard for my reserve center in the mid west. We had a change of command ceremony and we had special uniforms which included chrome helmets. Well.....................all these Admirals and other commanders droned on and on with their boring speeches while us in the color guard had to stand at attention. I almost passed out a couple times, standing at attention in the hot sun for an hour and a half.
I wish it was just a normal fainting for my mum. But no, it was an aneurysm :(. Don't always assume it is "just fainting" if someone faints, specially if they say their head hurts or they were slurring speech, ALWAYS call the ambulance.

It could have also been a TIA which is a mini stroke. People recover quickly until it becomes a stronger stroke. It happened to my mom.
