I have remote start on my vehicle and I love it! It gets my car warmed up so by the time I get into it, it is already blowing hot air and my windshield is defrosted!

Also, it is a great feature when I can remote start using my phone with peace of mind when I come out of the building into the parking lot, the car is still there and not being driven by someone else
Having the engine stop when unlocked is an annoyance. The car is locked no one can steal it. Other manufacturers require the user to press the brake and press the button in the car as well as sense the fob is in the vehicle. Toyota needs to correct this flaw.
John Reuter Toyota doesn't know how to do anything well when it comes to the key, You can't even lock the car with the engine running, for example if you wanted to run back in the house and grab something you can't lock the door with the car on and less you pull the actual physical valet key out...

genius people in toyota. it shouldn't allow drive if you don't have remote.
There's gotta be a way to bypass it from turning off when you touch the door knob.

Joshua Amaya its used if its like a cold day and you want to turn on the heater by the remote to warm it up for you i believe

Toyota needs to recall all their vehicles with this kind of remote starter. Besides turning off the engine for you to manually start it, the range is a total joke. I have a 2017 Highlander and the range is about 8 meters. When the weather gets cold, it drops to about 4 meter. That in my opinion is not a remote starter. Fix it!!
When you remote start the suv it turns off when you open de door or unlock the doors?? I hate that should be like others brands..... Go off if you don't have the key with you and try to move the gear shift...... I make no sense have remote start and restart the car when you get inside.... I'm a big fan of toyota i have a highlander 2023 platinum but unfortunately for that feature and when blind spot activates the light blinks but don't make any sounds..... i have to go with Honda pilot elite instead

This is the worst Remote Engine Starter I have ever had on a car. It was VERY EXPENSIVE too. Please think twice before having Toyota put this on your car. I regret it and half the time the car doesn't even start. I wish I could get my money back.
I actually had this remote deinstalled because the start range was less than 30 feet then would shutoff when you unlocked the door. I bought a cheaper after market that works from inside a building and like 1000 feet or farther from the car. It also provides feedback on the fob screen that the car started. The car still turns off when the door is unlocked. According to the installer Toyota makes it so this deficiency cannot be bypassed.
@@JohnReuter Did you have them do it at the dealership? It cost so much money, I feel like they should refund me. De-Installation has definitely been a thought. This is the worst automatic start Ive ever had.
@@reviews3 I sent a letter (not an email) to the CEO of Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. at P.O. Box 259001, Plano, TX 75025-9001. You may want to look up who the current CEO is at Toyota. I gave him the total story of the poor quality of the product, the cost of the installation at Toyota and the design deficiencies of the solution. At that point, he referred the case to a General Manager at Toyota and they refunded the cost of the starter. They would not refund the cost of installation since the dealer is an independent organization. So I got some sort of partial refund when I had an after market product installed.

This is one of the dumbest things I've ever seen. I love Toyota cars but come on. Really? You make us turn the car off before we get inside. Then we manually turn it back on again?!?!?!!!
the main point of remote start is so you dont have to freeze in your car so i don't see a major problem. like they said, its for theft protection

This is an OPTION ,it has to be installed .So not ALL Highlanders have it.
