      Dr. Dawkins was tutored by Nobel Prize-winning ethologist Nikolaas Tinbergen. Dawkins is a widely published author and receiver of numerous awards. He was ranked 20th in The Daily Telegraph's 2007 list of 100 greatest living geniuses. The chances are that before long he will be nominated for the receipt of the Nobel price in evolutionary biology (given for medicine)

      Dawkins has a good what if routine i have to admit. But its all drama with no substance. Sorry mr dawkins to say this to you but the god of abraham always was, is, and will be. You should step away from your theorys for 6 months and look at tge studies that show the truth of the bible and tge hundreds of prophecies that were fulfilled by jesus. The probabilities of those coming true are so incredibly remote its impossible unless god himself did it! Other than this i ca n not help athiests who do not want to own up to their own self accountability before jesus. He judges all and saves those who believe in him. For such an intelligent person he glosses over the obvious facts of tge incredible universe and world we live in. Gods glory in the heavens and the earth proclaim him to be the creator. The complexities of living things in nature make this obvious. Man has yet to understand how much of nature does what it does. Hibernation of bears to ant colonies. Yes dawkins might have some response or explanation but these would be meer surface scratches to the core. Sciences understanding is actually much less than what people like dawkins want us to realize. As far as non believers who view christians to be "behind", that is a deceitful statement. The holy bible states that there is no condemnation for those who are in christ. I wont be condemned for the sins ive done on this earth because jesus intercedes for me before the father. Im promised paradise. However for the non believer it only takes 1 sin in your earthly life for jesus to condem you to hell. For the wages of sin is death per the bible. Just because you as an athiest have ertain expectations of what reality is (god vs no god) does not mean your expectations are true. That is called self righteousness and delusion. God is soverign and in control at all times. Life on earth basically glorifies him thru living and as we will eventually see our existence glorifies him in our free will and what we ultimately choose. All things work together for good in those who believe...romans 8 28.

      I can never understand whether he's bashing the idea of God (or a creator of any form) or just Religion. Because they are different things. I think most of his arguments are centred round laughing at Creationists and people who believe every word the Bible says. But not everyone who believes in God, is against science. Outside our Universe, beyond our short lives, who knows. And that's something I can't abide with some atheists that they condescend people if they dare mention even the slightest chance of God existing. Personally I'm an agnostic. I'm open to the idea of their being a God, but I don't get bogged down in organised religion and all its frills. I'm just curious as to what Dawkins would say to me. No one knows for sure, I don't feel that we can know, we're not meant to know. What lies outside our universe, the meaning of life, what lies before and after life - we can never know, not during our lives on Earth anyway.
      Hence I refuse to belittle anyone - atheist or believer, because essentially I'd be barracking them with an argument that I don't even know is true. I think the world would be a lot happier and more peaceful if everyone was the same. Who knows we'll find out when we die, either there is something or there isn't. Only then will we know (or we won't, if there's nothing) ;)

There is nothing like God, during ancient times we as a species were ignorant and the things which we don't able to understand called it miracle or something Godly.That was our past why we care about something which was written 2000 or 3000 years back just WHY? Our universe is huge so huge that compare to the universe we don't even exist and still we are stuck in these kind of stuffs. God has restricted me from doing anything bad that could be harmful to me or to anyone else. If you say I want to live a life I want, I could, but I will end up hurting me or anyone else around me if I do it for my pleasures and desires, for example desires to gamble, I gamble day and night only to lose everything I have at the end. Or do drugs only to destroy my life. Where is the benefit of that?? where is the benefit of drinking alcohol or sexual immortality? these are a temporary benefit with long term consequences. Which is religion is prohibited for the fact it has long term consequences. I am grateful that God seems to have the best interest in me than my tempory pleasures and desires. The reason I keel every day.
      Another example.
      let say, I am a big mafia. I have control over the police and the government and I want to do drugs and rape people using that power. However, nothing is restricting me from doing it according to what you say. What should I be afraid of? The police, or the government or the law. I am in control of them. Guess what, I can do whatever I want without fearing consequence. According to you I get to whatever I want So now tell me why I should be good to people? I am a big mafia, I have control over the government and the police, what should I fear now?? According to you, what should I have to fear so that I can stop killing or selling drugs to people? pls let me know what stops me from doing what I want. be more specific this time???

      No. Because when he asks for evindence, it is okay. When they ask him for evidence, people just laugh. He cannot show evidence that god does not exist, but people dont care. We always support those who think alike. I do not hate him for thinking religion is false, I dislike him because he looks down on people who believes. He is blindly stuck in his own way, just as they are.

      @a-aronpre-sent1447 Před 7 lety +4

      Kristianthedane Yes, he is harsh, I don't believe anyone denies that, but then again religions are often very vocal as well proclaiming that they hold the path to some salvation. Dawkins just calls them out on what's just bullshit. His views are backed with evidence via many different branches of science. I wouldn't call that blindly stuck or arrogant, it's just correct, fact, etc. people who try to oppose and silence scientific truth should be given the blunt truth.
      As far as "disproving god" goes, no one can. It is quite impossible to do so. However, it is the assumption of god that needs evidence. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.
      He's helped many people question their own insecurities about their religion, including myself. Sometimes the blunt truth is what people need to wake up, to expose silliness and bullshit where it is so often presented an unquestionable truth.

    • @kristianthedane4347
      @kristianthedane4347 Před 7 lety +2

      I agree that he is right, but that is not the point. He makes fun of them. It is as simple as that. When he asks a question "what proof do we have of winged horses?" The other one doesn´t answer. When he is asked "what proof do you have that what you say is correct?" he doesnt try to answer. He just makes fun of them, getting the audience to laugh, and thus turning their attention away from the actual question.
      When I say he is blindly stuck in his own ways, it is because he cannot accept that people believes in something else. He is like a bully, if everyone does not agree with him, he makes fun of them. He doesnt stop to think about what they say.

    • @a-aronpre-sent1447
      @a-aronpre-sent1447 Před 7 lety +3

      Kristianthedane ok I see your point. However, is not just silly when he asks Dawkins that? I mean, I don't who could take that question seriously. It exposes just how weak and desperate some of his debaters are to speak. I've seen many of his debates and I've observed he really does try to answer the question with integrity. There are times like these however that beg for laughter, "can you disprove a winged horse exists?" I mean, could you take that seriously? Yes sometimes he misplaces these mockeries, but that shouldn't undermine his overall criticism and character.
      As for your second point, he does accept that people believe in something else. He has stated that this is ok, but it's the imposition of beliefs on society and government that is unacceptable. His reasoned responses to arguments are simply blunt. Hard truths hit hard. If someone does not agree with scientific and mathematical evidence, I think their way of thinking should be made fun of to an extent because it is literally unreasonable. It may hurt someone's feelings but that's not really a concern when they want to argue over reality. If you still think that makes him, or me, an asshole, fine, but he's the kind of guy we need to keep imposing religion at bay, and for that I hope the gods bless him lol. If religion could still have its way, they'd kill anyone for questioning, let alone mocking their many ridiculous claims. They still do in Islamic theocracies.

      I did upset one once when I told it that I was happy to accept that it had not evolved, however since we know that humans did evolve that would mean that it was not human and not subject to human rights. Also I would accept its claim that it was not an animal, but that would mean that it also not subject to animal protection laws.
      Since it appeared to be a good copy of real evolved humans It would make an ideal test subject for medical experiments, and as it was not animal or human there could be no ethical objections to whatever experiments I wanted to conduct on it.

What they don't understand is they are the exact same mechanism over different periods of time. If you admit to the one, you automatically concede the other must be true.
    I think some of them actually think it happens suddenly. Like one day a Spider Monkey just spit a human baby out it's vagina or something. They don't understand that "microevolution" over time will lead to individuals who couldn't reproduce with their ancestors from tens of thousands of generations ago because the DNA is too different.

      It's really not and good scientists would never claim to know something with 100% certainty. Evidence is collected and analysed to give the best possible explanation of phenomena, but if new evidence comes to light that contradicts the previous then scientists must adjust their theories. That is the difference between science and faith - science doesn't claim to know everything and science is ready to completely change its idea of what is true, entirely based on empirical evidence, human reasoning and logic. Faith/religion claims to already know the truth and doesn't require evidence to back it up, save ancient texts and the interpretations of religious scholars (often with their own non-religious agendas).

    • @Ericwvb2
      @Ericwvb2 Před 5 lety +4

      Well said, Nelson Inn. One of science's greatest strengths is that it doesn't ever claim 100% certainty. Everything is up for revision. That being said, some scientific theories have so much overwhelming evidence that the chances of them being substantially revised are close to 0%. Ironically, one the theories with the most evidence going for it is the theory of evolution, which some religious people have decided goes against their belief system and therefore must be incorrect. They really should have picked something else to have a problem with.

One believes in this Holy Ghost the other believes in these X-Men with genetically modified DNA to give them powers and strength over others...have you ever seen a spasticated (retarded) person??? Yeah...that's what genetic mutations look like...and there's all kinds of variations of them...all proving to be disadvantageous for survival...now if you take the super mouse that was genetically modified and became stronger, you'd be proving that without specific guidance by some supreme being, natural genetic mutations are disadvantageous.

And not only that, but I also believe that the snake has grown into a dragon and still lies his head off in the middle of every social interaction, even today. I am one of those modern people, and I also believe that the Word of God is the How-to Book that the Lord has given us to order our social and spiritual lives in accord with His Will, for our benefit. God bless you.

      Education, history and science contradict fairy tales or the existence of mythical gods or monsters, especially when it comes from 1800 year old books written by people who thought that the earth was flat, the sun revolved around the earth and America, Australia, Japan did not exist. Those who believe these myths are, by definition, uneducated.

      Well, but he is right so far: while what Dawkins says makes sense, on a strictly logical level he has no evidence that there wasn't some prophet flying on a horse. The better thing would be to say that he does not believe it because there is no evidence and because horses do not fly. But that is different from saying that you know that it never happened. You can say it's unlikely to have happened and that you do not believe that it happened, but that's different from pretending to say that it's impossible.

Just highlights the danger of religion

    • @andymccallum8090
      @andymccallum8090 Před 5 lety

      @@kamtarbol there is no god... see the difference between atheists and religious people is that. Atheists are usually open to have their minds changed. If I found out tomorrow that there is a god then I'd be like cool.. but if it was proven that there is no god.. You would not be fine with that. You see I believe many religious people try to avoid critical thinking when it comes to a creator. If they have been brought up strongly believing and having that naive comfort. Then it's very hard to suddenly drop that. It's why so many people make barriers and walls around them. Life is simpler that way, no need for deep scientific and highly complex thoughts. Some people like their universe small some like it big and that's fine. Maybe they are scared of death? Alot of people go to god because the humans species is very narssastic in nature.. how can I possibly stop existing? That's not as good as enternal paradise "heaven". God is appealing in times of struggle you can fool yourself that by praying maybe he will help. All these things bring comfort, security. The harsh reality of the universe may seem scary to most. I find it the opposite. We can trace ourselves to stars that exploded, they formed planets and etc. We always go back to the big bang... what came before? How can something come from nothing it's completely illogical... I agree. But does that make it not possible? We are using human logic for that Our brains are not made for that complicated stuff. They are made for running away from tigers on a savannah. Some us are capable of doing complicated physics but most of us can't. You cant look
      at the creation of the universe with a logical mindset. We have to use tools of mathematics etc to take away the handicap. We have evolved very specifically on a planet in the milky way. God is a human creation that was used to explain stuff. Greek gods and roman gods are prime examples. We no longer need them because we know that it's all bullshit. So chances are you're god is bullshit too. I had to write this quickly so feel free to point out any mistakes I made logically etc.
