Are u sure? Lawyers employ a strategy of suing and seeking a settlement from whomever can be sued to avoid bad publicity or expensive litigation. It’s been done.
The attorney is correct that it is a preventable issue; when signals are activated, *do not* ignore them. And at no time should you walk on or next to the tracks.
And the families got NOTHING from the lawsuit… This attorney should be ashamed of himself, he knows he’s gonna lose the case, but still takes the grieving families money… sad 😢
What a money-hungry society we live in! Sickening! People will sue for anything to get a few bucks (even if blood-money is on their hands!) FIGHT THEM ALL THE WAY, BRIGHTLINE!
Hey, plain and simple. Stay the f*ck off the tracks and don't try to swerve around the alarm arms when they are down. People just looking for a fast pay day !!!!! Also that lawyer is looking for some fast money too !!!
These Ambulance Chasing Attorneys are the problem. Blaming the train for their deaths. The attorneys use L the grieving families to try to get paid. Filling their heads with the notion that the “railroad” could’ve prevented the deaths. I truly pray for these families and the deceased… but humans can move in the way and out the way easier…that train doesn’t turn or swerve out the way. Truly bad decisions are the result of train deaths and you can put up a 5 foot iron wall as crossing barriers… humans will still disregard it trying to beat the train or commit suicide.
No excuses. Railroad education has been prominent in North America since the 1950's, telling people exactly what to do when a train is coming, how dangerous trains are, what to do if you are stuck in front of tracks, and explaining it takes a hunk of steel travelling 60 mph over a mile to stop. The train can't swerve or stop on a dime. MOVE THE HELL OUT OF THE WAY! A car can be replaced, your life cannot.
Who in their right minds would try to cut across in front of an oncoming high speed train, only an idiot. The train occupies the crossing for two minutes at most. Is two minutes going to make a difference to your life; cannot let that pizza get cold!!
im surprised people are sueing brightline for what THEY done, there family members broke the law by crossing tracks when the gates are down bells going and lights flashing and there suing? absolute idiots. LOOK AT WHAT PEOPLE ARE DOING TO THE COMPANY AND THE INOCINT TRAIN CONDUCTORS JUST BECAUSE THEY THOUGHT THEY COULD SAVE A FEW SECONDS!
This person was just so wanting to get to the other side no matter what the lights were at. It was an easy choice, stay there until the train passed, or throw the dice, your life. The laws are there to protect, not for a game of chance. What did you think should have happened. “Stop the train I want to get home for tea.’’???
Hopefully, this will incentivize future high speed rail train projects that will be built in the US to have grade separated tracks. It only takes one idiot doing something stupid to get seriously hurt or in some cases so far, killed.
@@kwlkid85 Yup! "Higher" speed at best... And even that's a stretch since Amtrak operates at higher speeds generally than this line, with the exception of the new Orlando-Cocoa section which isn't even open yet...
Or fencing and better barrier gates... Much cheaper and just as successful. Even Japan and France use these devices without having full grade separation...
This was not brightline's fault. This was simply two stupid people who went onto the tracks despite all the signs and warnings, natural selection at play
Brightlines company had to see the Land plots on where the tracks would run to and from and the city had to approve it. both the city and bright line should be held responsible. and if florida cared about it’s community we wouldn’t rank so low on Mental health. this is the city and brightlines fault completely
This is why so many lawyers are perceived as bottom-feeders.
Ambulance chasers making money from the suffering…
Case is bs, they were on the tracks, u wouldn’t sue if someone walked out into the interstate
Pretty much

Also…. What about the engineer & conductor who witnessed this first hand… that type of PTSD affects them, their families and their livelihood.
Wtf? Some idioit was sitting on the tracks and your gonna sue the train company? Like you expect the train to stop quickly? They can't.
its really a simple solution....if you wanna stay alive then stop,,look,,and listen no matter where you cross the tracks
I believe brightline is innocent and should sue these people for damages!
And the families got NOTHING from the lawsuit… This attorney should be ashamed of himself, he knows he’s gonna lose the case, but still takes the grieving families money… sad 😢
Hopefully these cases are thrown out. Bright Line is not at fault for someone ignoring safety gates or committing suicide. Dismiss these cases !!!!
How on Earth is this Brightline's fault? These people *KNEW* that the crossings mean a train is coming, and yet they still crossed into the tracks.
They knew by looking at the Parcels and plots that it’s high residential areas. so they are completely at fault
What a money-hungry society we live in! Sickening! People will sue for anything to get a few bucks (even if blood-money is on their hands!) FIGHT THEM ALL THE WAY, BRIGHTLINE!
These familes should get lost.
I’m sorry for their losses, but it was NOT Brightlines fault. Throw these cases out.
You cant sue someone else for your own stupidity sorry

It's real simple.....don't run the crossing gates and stay the off the train tracks. Not hard folks....
Stay off of the tracks.

Forest Gump said something about these sorts of people.
"Stupid is as stupid does”
They purposely got themselves hit. These people are just wanting money out of their deaths. Absolutely disgusting....
Stupid people getting in front of a train. They purposely get in front of a train knowing a train is coming. What idiot lawyer would take this case?
maybe they should have built it out west instead of right in the middle of town where traffic is backed up as it is.
79 mph, hardly high speed train.
Between W Palm and Orlando it will be able to get up to 125 mph. It can’t do high speed between Miami and W Palm.
@@JRNY07 I'm talking about between Miami and West Palm.
Totally! But it's America a nation that thinks universal healthcare is akin to communism so... yeah... What would one expect...

If you go onto the train tracks and get hit, its kinda on you though
this is so typical, someone did something wrong and the family blame others for compensation ! US is so miserable !

Ykw, sucks for them.. it's their fault and they were the ones who did it to themselves.
But why sue a train?
Cause they got da monies!
Yes better gates and more fencing would help keep the dummies off the track but who should pay for it? Not Brightline if you ask me!
Darwin Awards everywhere! Gene pool getting cleansed. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
If you get hit by a train 🚂 you had it coming. A train is much much bigger and louder than the kids you avoid every day
Someone made a comment that they wanted to get to the other side, they made it to the other side alright...not the side they were thinking about
ALL the way to the other side! Say hello to Gilbert and Bob for me! ;-)
What are they expecting to get out of this
Chances of getting caught on tracks is high.have 5mins level crossing
Hopefully, this will incentivize future high speed rail train projects that will be built in the US to have grade separated tracks.
It only takes one idiot doing something stupid to get seriously hurt or in some cases so far, killed.
Even simpler solution, stay off the tracks like they teach in 1st grade.
Natural selection.
This isn't a high speed line

Me me me...it wasn't my fault...me me me....just stop and wait!
Easy solution, don't allow cars to cross the tracks and fence the tracks off. Emergency vehicles can still pass.
Don't try to beat the train ever! The gates were down the lights flashing.
Lol. Stupid decision and now wants payment for it..lol. No way...
