Stephanie Mills and Charlie Wilson are the only two R&B artists that that sound _exactly_ the same after all these years. Underrated legends. She may have not gotten to play Dorothy in the film version, but guess what? _Home_ is one of her signature songs that she can easily tore up and down like what....Salute to these legends.

I was the drummer for "Climax" back in 1971 and we had a tune called "Precious and Few." After years of doing it on the road, I asked our lead singer, Sonny Geraci, if he ever got tired of doing it. He told me, "That song made my career. So, every time I start to get tired of singing it, I remember how many fans want to hear it, and that they gave me everything I have. Knowing that, I never get tired of singing it! Weird, I know."
So thanks again, Stephanie for including 'Home' in your repertoire. It means so much to so many. God bless.

You know what just occurred to me....you don't hear artists talk about the creative process or music and their talents like this anymore. I mean, I suppose I can be wrong here because I am not really into the music of today (with the exception of a few artists) but still, I really don't see artists in 2011 just being sincere and open about their 'craft' and the means by which that craft is honed and brought to us like Stephanie is doing, so well and so candidly, in this video.
Karamel2233 This is the kind of show I would love to see. A round table of real vocalist discussing the ins and outs of their craft. Their music, the downfalls and the highs of their voice. Their journey musically and musical inspirations. Maybe a round table of older and younger vocalist. So it would be a learning and teaching segment for both.
I guess they don't talk about it because the music now a days isn't real...back then music was and still is real and people were passionate and much to talk about...like love, happiness, making love, family, real friendship, and now it's the complete opposite.

My people knew Stephanie from Hart Street, in Brooklyn. There has never been any print stating she's from Mount Vernon. Every print states she's from Brooklyn, even WIKI. She may have had family in Mount Vernon she visited and stayed with, but she was born and raised in Brooklyn.
