Personal guess about how the trap allowed Rogue to switch out for Ruby: the trap has a limit of people that it can hold and send. When there are more people on it than it can allow then it unlocks the movement part to allow someone to exit. Thus making the shove work. This would also sound quite similar to how D&D spells work so it would add on to the D&D connection of Rogue

I agree y'all are probably right. The 6 max explanation was rushed. I just think it needed a little more time to explain or a one line later on when he replaces ruby. That would have helped with the confusion. But as you can tell, it didn't really take away from the story!

The trap locked at 6 with the addition of broken-beak, so Rogue (who knows his tech) knew he had to do a "matter exchange" to free Ruby by taking her place. He's probably never faced a situation where he could selectively free someone already locked in, so that's something for him to think about while he waits for the Doctor to find him.
Honestly I really hope they don’t make Rouge a throw away character. Johnathan and Ncuti’s on screen chemistry is matching Matt and Alex when they were 11 and River
Tennant was shown twice because he was 2 incarnations of the doctor 10 and 14. If it had been proper he would have been there 3 times as he was 10.5 to after being shot by a Dalek running to Rose.

When he took over from DT who was broken completely depleted this Doctor as he said in the episode Live for the ones who cant, The energy he brings to the show for me has been lacking since MS left, I do think Rogue is being setup as the new Capt Jack/ Riversong. Not the best choice of words from the haters "It's being rammed down people's throats....."

There's a bit of a split whenever there's a romance for the Doctor or what could be looked on as a romance for the Doctor. I'm kind of loving how you're blanking on Rose when you go through your examples. Kind of forgot about here just like the Doctor did in "Girl in the Fireplace." Maybe you were only listing one-offs at that point. (I know people aren't going to say Martha, but I think there was something there on his part; it was just a bad time.)
