This is such a relevant topic in the times we are in. People need to sort themselves out more than ever. Man or woman, no one can give you happiness. It's one of those things that can't be given, only shared. But what is happiness? What is a woman? What is a man? If I put a woman on a pedestal, I make myself nothing to her. If I put myself up on a pedestal, she will feel like she is nothing. Eye to eye, but what is behind those eyes? A few years ago, my ex-wife, her husband (a dear friend of mine), and my step-granddaughter were in the middle of a move. They were exhausted, just wanted to sit. "No. Come on. Get in the truck." "We just want to relax." "Trust me. Get in the truck." Grumbling, they got in. I took them to a nail salon for manicures and pedicures. My ex-wife's husband thought I was crazy, spending a couple hundred bucks and a couple hours on something like that. But, their tension and exhaustion just melted away. They needed to be girls for a while. They needed to be pampered. When it was time to leave, there was life in their steps, much more than hours of ass sitting could ever give them. So many men tell a woman what a woman is, what she has to be, what she has to feel. No! Let her show you. For her to show you, you have to see. A man has to have the balls to NOT define her, and NOT be defined by her. Be your best selves, and that is good enough. That is confidence. As a man, I 'need' respect more than 'love.' That is my nature, and it's good. I 'need' to be trustable more than I 'need' to be trusting. What I know of myself has far more weight than what anyone tells me I am. Just as I have no business telling a woman what a woman is, or what she has to feel, no woman has any business telling me what a man is, or what I have to feel. That's my job, and up to me to give it everything I've got, to always do my very best. In the end, that elusive happiness everyone is searching for, is found within you, from knowing you are good, because you gave it your all. No one can give that to you, and no one can take it away. There you have it. Happiness, man or woman, ripe to be shared. When I took them to that nail salon, I could have been wrong. I had to trust myself, my instincts, and do what seemed right. There was nothing in it for me. A couple of miserable hours waiting around while my girls were being rescued from their exhaustion. But because there was nothing in it for me, it made me rich inside. What makes us rich isn't what we get. It's what we give. Giving to get is giving nothing at all. No, that's not true. It's manipulation. It's giving a vacuum. Love lives in service and in fullness. When you give love, you are rich beyond measure. Love is not want. Love is made of deeper stuff. The respect so dear to me, ultimately, is something I have to give to myself. I do that by doing what I know is right, by serving a greater good than any 'want' could ever be. Arica, the great sadness in the world you are fighting, at the core, is from people living in their self-inflicted poverty, living in emptiness. People need to live in fullness, and that is something they can only give to themselves by choosing how they live their lives. We need to live true to what is written on our hearts, in goodwill and service. We need to be rich by what we freely give. The world of 'getting ours' is a world of inescapable poverty. Living by 'want' is an inescapable doom. Go the extra mile, always. That is how you make it down the road.
Iâm definitely a real man. Confident, mature, ambitious, driven, kind, caring, loving, masculine yet gentle. Take care of business on all fronts.

Happily I grew up with a father who constantly asked me, "when you look in the mirror what do you see?". Been doing the work my whole life and can say, I like me. God bless my father.

I'm a real man!! I am going to graduate from this program through the V.A. hospital, that helps veterans with P.T.S.D., depression, anxieties, panic, phobias and fears, on 23 August 2019. When I graduate from this program, I would been in this program for a total of 2 years 8 months and 19 days. I always wore my emotions on my sleeves, it seems. I always been a man who owns up to his faults when I am in the wrong and I take full responsibility for my actions if I am right or wrong. A real man isn't afraid to cry out in the open, in front of others in public, including females. I grew-up during the 1960's and the 1970's. When it came to crying out in public, I wasn't one of those boys who held back the tears and I wasn't afraid to let loose the tears, baby. I always had to use a wing man when I wanted to know a girl back then and I still do today.

I had to think long and hard about what it means to be an "emotional warrior." I think it is the ability of man (or woman) having the emotional ability to have serious conversations with their partners and the ability to express their unabated innermost thoughts and feelings with some adult level of confidence. You're right: material things are a shell, but in the end, we are emotional andlogical creatures that need to feed these "two mouths."
Furthermore, it is the ability to take an emotional and logical stock of a situation and respond to it with some level of emotional and logical maturity.

Ive known women that gets pissed off and angry and treats me unworthy if i do anything but pretend im happy and show any emotion ever and tell me im not a man for even venting about work. 23 yrs in army wrestled 10 years fought in combat w/101st airborne and work out a LOT...not a whimp but says im not a man if I'm anything but happy 24/7. So i dont think the guy that confronts his emotions is what women want. They want someone that is nothing but happy 24/7, shares no emotions ever and will be THEIR emotional punching bag or barf bag when THEY have to vent daily.
