Perfect timing. I needed this as I sit in my bedroom watching your video. Eating dinner at 8:00 at night. Anything to get away from my 5 kiddos who have not done what they are supposed to do today. I'm really fed up. I'm trying to make changes after reading a book called "How to talk so your kids will listen, and how to listen so your kids will talk". Its opened up my eyes to a lot of mistakes I have been making. These changes don't come naturally to me. Maybe this is the hard part before it gets easier? Please say a quick prayer for me if you can. I don't want to keep making the bad choices and then reap what I have sown when my kids are older.

@@oljaaaaaaa yes I would. The tips are very practical. I think you may have to tweak a little for a 2 year old but I think much of it can be applied to toddlers.
This was really good! After years of struggles with my young son's behavior, I remember sitting across from him and saying, "I'm on your team. Let’s work together.' Something changed in both of us. Not to say it was easy sailing, but it clicked in his head and mine that we were not going to give up on each other.❤
Now that my kids are mostly adult's ( I have 1 left that is 13) but with the olders if they want to fight, I just say " if you want to die on that hill that is fine but it s not that important and I'm not going to fight !" It usually makes them think about how much they believe in what they are fighting for. I never felt like we were anything but a team of us against the world. Now we did not have peace in our home as there are 3 boys, a girl, 3 cats and a dog, but we did have fun and joy and they remember their fun fun fun childhood!
First of all….I’m loving the hair up, you look beautiful. I have been trying a similar method with my 16 yo step daughter who is very fragile girl with lots of mental heath issues. I have been trying to be open and chat to her in a different way and tackle problems together and I def see a difference in our bond together.
I love the approach and mindset shift. But how do you handle when you and your teen don't agree on bigger things. Hard to have a team sentiment between you and your teens when some things you just have to have that hard no that they don't agree with or understand. Truly looking for your opinion not debate your approach lol Messianic Homeschooling mom of 11 and my teens are wonderful young humans but there are a few things I have to give a hard no to which for me means I'm sorry but this isn't on the table to be changed but I will talk and explain and hear out your feelings on it. Social media, phone restrictions and 1 that wants to go to public school are the toughest. 13 14 15 and almost 17. My kiddos don't get their own phones till their working and can pay for it and that can came around this fall for them and now I have a whole new world to navigate. I've been watching you and your sisters videos for many years now so I'm asking because I respect your opinion as a like minded momma always trying to keep growing and being better.
