Still miss the fairgrounds race but this was an excellent show. IRP has that magic
BOBBY SANTOS III W, LET'S GO, BOBBY!
Just glad you called this IRP rather than Lucas Oil Raceway. I live 2 miles away and it will always be IRP to me
It has nothing to do with “we.” The track began officially calling itself Indianapolis Raceway Park (IRP) again starting with the 2022 season.
Great run for Tyler Roahrig! He's the most patiently aggressive and aggressively patient racer on the track! Good luck in tonight's Little 500. Run for the three-peat!
Congrats Bobby Santos..
Australian Sprintcar Fan here. Was this particular track ever a dirt track? Or was it ever a dirt track?
Love the Silver Crown Cars by the way, love the look of the Petrol Tank ( rear cone) too.
Reminds me of the "days of old", and the aesthetic of days long gone by, though fondly remembered.
No this track was always paved (I think) what you are probably thinking of was the old hoosier hundred at a 1 mile dirt track at the Indiana state fairground which has sadly closed. These cars actually race on dirt and pavement, there is a great full race on this channel under. "Race of the week" from Belleville kansas if you are interested.
This track was dirt for the first two races of its existence in May of 1961. A USAC Sprint Car race won by A.J. Foyt and a USAC Stock Car race won by Don White.
It's been paved ever since.
Originally DIRT. I was there for a USAC stock car race
@@stevenbuis4490 wow interesting thanks
Driver for hire here in Abq Nm
Hoosier Daddy
Also so in usac we have a Cody a tanner and a Jake Swanson........ Cody and tanner are brothers I do believe, not sure if Jake is any relation to the other two or not
No he is not
Negatory. Cody and Tanner are blood brothers tho
No dirt?, Man, asphalt is for parking lots. Everyone knows that. Gotta be a mile around it to be worthy of its history.
Fifty Seven years of 'Champ Cars' doing 100 laps on dirt. pavement just not the same.
How about more racing highlights and less interview???
Iritates me cottle aint in a pavement car.... Points race means nothing now😮💨
Not the Hoosier 100.
In all racing series whenever a driver goes down a certain number of laps they should be kicked out of the race. In Silver Crown it should be two laps down and you're done.
Disagree
Sorry disagree they race both dirt and pavement most are running for points
Stop calling it the Hoosier 100, this isn't the Hoosier 100. It died when the dirt mile died. Call this whatever you want, but it's not the Hoosier 100.
Agree they should have moved it to terre haute if they were going to call it the hoosier 100. Hoosier 100 on pavement makes zero sense.
I agree but the state fair was called the hulman hundred it might have been hoosier hundred at some point in time
Agreed! State Fair Board "officials" shafted all dirt racing fans when they changed the surface to "accommodate" year round harness racing horses.
They should move it to a different track in Indiana every year tracks like terre haute, winchester, salem, and lawerceburg have the long history that would be appropriate for the event.
