I cant remember those folks names but i think they have been my favorite guests this far. They seem like really good people. The wife is so sweet and the man you got the cars from, i feel like he is the kind of guy, that you could just have good conversation about anything and listen, absorb everything the man says. Awesome job guys!!! Dennis brother, you and your whole team ROCK!!! Keep on my friends!!
this has been my favorite episode of coffee walk yet
I say that every week
I was just thinking the same thing!
U say that EVERY episode.
@@jaywalker1093 I know u do
U haven't watched many then brother?🤫🤫😫👎👎👎🤯🤯🤯🤔🤔
The Mrs. Was a riot. What a fun couple and great cars.
What a show. One of the best of '23. Everyone full of positive vibes and energy. Thank you.
I am really excited for this one. I had a 914 growing up. They only made 3360 914-6 cars. In the end the agreement with Porsche was not honored. The 914-6 ended up being really close to the price of the 911. So Porsche decided to make a 4 cylinder version that was cheaper.
Sold as a VW in Europe the 4 cyl version.
I've always loved them. My favorite Porsche. I should have bought one decades ago.
what happened to it?
I had 2 ...4 cylinder cars most rusted away 30 years ago... I still have one... in pieces 😢
They canceled the 914-6 and came out with the 2 Liter which in Europe I think was referred to as the 914-S.
I had a 71 914 that my Dad and I converted to a 6 cyl, it was incredible. AND a 56 Vett!!!! 2 of my absolute favorite cars, I am still drooling. My next time in Steamboat Springs will include going to the Laundry... Superb episode.
A couple of things struck me with this episode. First two amazing cars and the stories behind them make them even more valuable in my opinion. The 914-6 is incredible, but Dennis your knowledge of cars is always amazing but even more so with the Porsche information. Keeping the story behind each of the cars alive is so important and hearing the owner share the story of his first wife with the mini skirt, just lovely. Each episode this year is better than the last. Look forward each week to the newest episode. Thank you for sharing.
As a UK 🇬🇧 fan it was strange to sit here watching and say I’ve been down that road, through that tunnel. Steamboat Springs is where I learnt how to ski way back in 1998. Yet another great video, love the 914-6. Can’t wait for JD’s auction and your next video. 👍
Dennis.. I think this couple was the most fun and so nice to see.. The cars were awesome and the restaurant looked like they had amazing food.. My step son lives in that area and is an accomplished chef.. Great video brother !! Looking forward to the next car / restaurant video..LOL!!
What an awesome family and one of my favorite dinner show .Again Dennis was a gentlemen and treated everybody with respect and kindness
Don't take this wrong. I love the show and don;t mind Dennis at all BUT.
Yes he treats everyone with kindness but your kidding yourself if you think he respects them.
People who treat others with respect don't talk over the top of them while they are speaking. They also don't put food intelsils in their mouth and then return it to the communal plate, especially when that plate already has a utensil on it for that purpose. They also don't serve themselves before their guest has done so and they sure as shit don't open breakfast warmers and fling flapjacks around like a frisbee.
He has kindness in spades. Respect however he is severely lacking in.
Love a coffee walk, highlight of my Friday and this is stunning, beautiful owners and stories behind the cars with a location to match. I'm not a biker but I do have a BMW connection, fan of this show
Best buy of the year! The sincerity of this guy and passion is incredible.
The cars and bikes were great finds but the owners, that family was the best...what characters, very refreshing!
Dennis, my great grandfather came from that part of the country. He & his partner served with U.S. Army troops under Gen. Custer. Fortunately for me he had an injury causing his discharge before Little Big Horn. He stayed in that part of the country & his pioneer ranch was where Utah & Colorado meet. Today it is a high desert valley administered by the BLM of the federal government. Loved the video from the drone. ~ from dry as a bone Texas
Enjoyed the picture of you and late wife and the 914-4, I had a new '73 914-4 same color, bought new in Indianapolis.
Thank you Dennis and crew wonderful show you motivated me to back out my 79Z 28 with 68,000 miles and drive it for a little bit. It actually brought a smile to my face. It was exactly what I needed. Thank you guys!
79 Z beautiful car. My first car was the last year of that model. A 1981 Z28 that I bought in 87. Take that beauty out and enjoy her more Sir!!! ❤ From 🇨🇦
Well damn Dennis, you're finding all these fantastic cars, I live in Colorado, and you're not leaving anything around for the rest of us!!!! Love your show!
This is the top show on you tube hands down dennis❤
I just bought an almost identical '56 Corvette project with 2x4 intake 327, 4speed and all, so this episode was a treat for me!
Nice ride .
I'm 53. Had a 914 with a fuel injected 2.0L in high school. Cost me my driver's license for 2 months and still my favorite car I've ever owned. Thanks for the video.
I normally skip the food segments but this episode was so fun to watch. The wife was hilarious
😊😊😊😊
First 914-6 I’ve seen in 30 years. There were quite a few in Newport / Huntington Beach area of SoCal in the 80’s.
Such great stories and a really sweet couple. The son, or whoever that was was cool too! Big props for using the 2 1/4 format TLR camera. I had a Mamiyaflex like that !
that's actually me with the TLR in the video, i am indeed Mike's son and the Mamiya C33 belonged to my grandfather, same as the '56 Vette, thought it was only right to document the day with it. should have all the film back tomorrow! Cheers!
@@colindefenbau7342 Very cool!! I think that was the same model I had. Well done!!!
In addition to the vintage cars and motorcycles, the son was shooting pictures with a Mamiya C220 or 330. Great 2 1/4 film camera from late 1960s. I used one to shoot many high school yearbook pictures in 1968/1969. Almost indestructible. Great episode!
One of my favorite episodes yet! Just amazing 😊😊
I own 3 914s, including one original six, and have been working on them since 1985. This six is modified, and that brings the value down. But it is still a nice car. Also, Tangerine and Signal Orange are different paint colors with different paint codes.
Bob Hindson Racing is still in business in Kansas City. Bob raced 914/6 and later 911 in SCCA C Production for many years. Eventually he raced IMSA, winning the GTU class at the Daytona 24hr in the late 70’s. BHR did in fact have a pair of new 914/6 factory race cars along with Richie Ginther who had a pair on the west coast.
I haven’t seen it beyond the “scenery” but I’m soooo loving this! To be able to see places I haven’t been through you guys is awesome!!!! ❤🙏🙌😊
Before I went into the service i worked at a tire/ service shop and one of our good customers had two 914s, one was the four and it was green and a 914-6, that was red. His wife drove the green one every day but he drove the 914-6 very rarely and in only perfect weather. It might of had two hundred miles on it when i left for the service day after Thanksgiving in 1979. This gentleman collected all kinds of cars, from a early T-bird to a lotus espirt, numerous corvettes and an original Copo Camaro. Dennis your enthusiasm for these cars and how you treat their owners is why we all follow you.
my brother had a 914.... and YES it was FUN to drive = just like a go cart
What a great segment to feature Colorado "high country" and Steamboat Springs. Glad that you didn't have to drive this trip in the Winter months; it may have been a slipping and sliding drive? Air Carrier flights land at Hayden-Yampa Valley Airport west of town; big runway, big planes. First Corvette I ever sat in was a 1956 that our local Dentist just bought. Your "score" of the two bikes was a great surprise. Finishing the Corvette will be a real treat when it is complete to your standards. I look forward to future surprises.
This has to be the best Coffee walk of the year!
This was one of my dream cars growing up. Especially the 6cyl. I don't remember them being orange. But what do I know. The 6 cyl is a completely different animal than the 4. Beautiful car. Original. That Vette is a peach too. What a steal. ❤❤🔥🔥👍🤑😎
Great episode! The seller was super cool about everything and his wife was so much fun.
Beautiful cars and work keeping them in amazing condition
I love this guy's story about the 914.
I’d like to see that disposable cam pic of Zakk 😅
That's an Olympus 35mm.
I jus realized Sean look s like randy Quaid , when the were eating & he looked up it reminded me of cousin Eddie 🤣😂🤣😂
Dennis, remember Dave Edwards the defensive linebacker and end for the cowboys, he had a silver 914-6. In the seventies me and some other fools raced motocross and he showed up many times and sit with us in our pit area , nice guy.
One of my favorite things about Dennis’s videos is the nice people that he meets when buying these cars
and the last few episodes when the cover's come off the car and the angles sing... very nice touch.. I love it
Dennis Collins you got gold from that gentleman in steamboat I love how he drove that red car into the trailer good folks they flogged even that rare bike nice show that food at laundry wow that's alot
This was a excellent coffee walk . Enjoyed the stories and the people!
I drove a 914 2.0 on weekends for many years and would autocross a 914-6 “beater” before I moved on to a 911. Driving the 914-6 around Lake Tahoe was as good as it gets. Hands down the 914-6 was the best car to push hard. I like it better than the boxer for track days. I would love to have one if I had room for it. Bucket list would be a 914-6 at Laguna Seca, maybe a little slow on the straights but the corkscrew into Rainey corner HEAVAN.
Dennis you and the team have the best job in the world! When your passion can translate to making a living you’ve found it !!
914-6 is top shelf.... a nut shot though Dennis not including a 914-2.0ltr, keep up the hunt great cars!
I have worked on two 1956 Corvettes. 1had a power top, I made work with the original 265, 2x4 engine
I've wanted a 914-6 since my buddy had one back in the late 70s. Great find, so jealous.
What a beautiful retreat in the high mountains Harboring a couple of beautiful pieces of history. I had a beautiful 900 super sport Ducati and a T-shirt that said LOUD CLUTCHES SAVE LIVES.
I owned 914/4 5 speed, loved it. Targa top aught to be on every sports car. So easy to take off & put on. Top off, heater wide open, grinning ear to ear. 914’s one of the most underrated cars of all time. Loved 70’s & short skirts. Always help the girl in & out. You know some girls don’t wear underwear.
Of all the cars on Coffee Walk, this 914-6 is my favorite hands down. Autocrossed a few 914's over the years, and used a few as daily drivers, of all the cars I no longer have, the 914s are missed the most.
Another great episode. Great family you bought from. Hope everyone stays in touch. Good people all around.
Greetings from Finland! Y'all have a great weekend!
Another great coffee walk 👍 but the food and the company in the restaurant was great that lady was so cool.
My uncle had one of the Corv.ette's, same paint scheme and year, back in the early 60's. He used it during his college years. After college, he gave it to his Dad, my Grandfather. He traded it in for a brand new '66 Impala, and got 1000 in trade. I loved riding in that car with him when I was about 7.
That's a lovely Corvette, but that 914-6 is EPIC!! I'm no Porsche expert but that has to be the nicest 914 I've ever seen!! GYSOT!! 👌💪
Great video l really love the great cars you find and the great story behind em
Another killer video as usual. Love the history behind the cars and the people that owned them.
I have a friend in LA with a 914-6 (a real one), and it is a blast to drive. It really is like a go-cart. It just happens to be that same color combination. His has a 3.2L engine from a 911. It's quite the sleeper.
Great find with fantastic cars & motorcycle. Enjoyed the conversation with the couple who
sold the cars - good people.. The restaurant food looked fantastic !!
Take a shot everytime Dennis says “iconic” 🤣
Great to see. One of my friend's in the 80's was driving his dad's car to High School, which was a 914/4 Volkswagon Porsche. 914/6 of course pure Porsche. I learned the differences decades ago, as well as having done some sketch art of the car back then. For many years I've had a thing for this car.
I follow some yuotubers where car is the theme, but I have to say that coffe walks are something all their own. The way Dennis meets the people, touches me.
Once again, Dennis and Co. have given us an upload so superior that it ALMOST surprises me it is not on tv. Why almost? Because it would not be nearly as good after drama processing! Love the team, the vehicles and the sellers. And the scenery.
I spotted a vintage twin lens reflex camera at 29:04 and I am pretty sure it is a Mamiya.
yup, you nailed it! that's me in the video with my grandfather's Mamiya C33 (i believe it's from '66), same grandfather that owned the '56 Vette, seemed appropriate. Good eye!
@@colindefenbau7342 I know a woman that shot weddings with one. The thing is much heavier than a Hasselblad. I had a Rolleicord bout in 1992 for $125. Sold it for grocery money a few years later. But I took some great photos with it. Tomorrow is World Photography Day.
327 good little engines. I got one with the 462 double hump heads. Putting together for my 37.
Make sure you get the right head bolts for those fuelie heads.
I love Dennis. Thank you for always being a gentleman with class and always giving your viewers knowledge on every purchase.
On a mountain road, ANY sports car would have a very hard time keeping up with that 914/6!! Love that car. good on you Dennis for keeping It In your private collection...
Another great Friday. With two great families. Yours Dennis and also the sellers!!
Great cars and a wonderful owner. You're gonna need a bigger garage Dennis 👍😊🙂
Nvr really been a fan of porsche but that 914/6 is incredible you can tell its special right off the rip.. beautiful car
I really love everything you’ll do. I love watching your videos. I am so honored to see your work in progress.
Great opening music while driving, beautiful shot of the ICONIC Thunder Valley motocross track.👍💪🇺🇸...
I love how Dennis takes care of his employees, Zack scored here, NICE on the cafe BMW.
I hope you film that auction !!! And what you buy …!! Can’t wait ..🤗
Beautiful Corvette and 914 6. Great house and the owner was really an interesting guy. Lunch was world class. Skiied there in 1985. Beautiful.
I have a 914. It has had some work done to it. It now sports a 300 hp engine. The car weighs in at 1,900 lbs and it flies. :)
That lady was fantastic. I'd love to see more of her in restaurants doing reviews.
Bob was one of three factory teams, brims and Alan Johnson were the other two.
This was my dad's time he was a factory Porsche mechanic in the twin cities
Just when i think it cant get any better, Dennis and the crew top the last episode..as a Porsche guy, love the enthusiasm for the classic Porsches…the only downside is that i want to visit Texas and drive that 914-6!!
Great job!! Keep up the fantastic work!!!
I drove one in a snow storm in New Hampshire. I could not believe how stable it was ion those conditions.
What great finds, especially the Triumph, being British myself I love the 955i triple, in 2002 they had 120 bhp 74 ft lbs of Torque and 548 lbs weight.
Great episode ! When i was a apprentice in the 90`s we had one of those Porsche sat out the back ..belonged to a local car dealer ..was there for years ! ..This episode was very different to the normal episode's ...almost unique ...The food LOOKED FANTASTIC ....The Laundry is on the USA visit list !!
As a Dutch man myself. That " made in western Germany" tag is iconic history itself
I drove one of these in a bad snow and ice storm. I was blown away by the stability.
I’ve owned my 87 Carmine Red for 28 yrs. A tenant of mine works on foreign cars. He called a few months ago and said he had a car I needed to drive. A 914 6!!!!
“Drives like a go cart” For sure.
9⁹
Back in the 90s my father bought a 1969 427 convertible. He painted that car with lacquer paint.
He painted and buffed until that car was like glass. It was so nice he was afraid to drive it.
It must be so refreshingly nice too meet someone like Dennis # fair price stress free.
Cool Cars Fine Dining & Great Company sounds like a perfect day.
Awesome story about the 914!
That guy had a camera with out a phone attached. When did they invent that ?
I have heard rumors of cameras before the phone.
Wow, what an awesome show today. Love the cars, motorcycles and the great food!!!
Last time I drove up to Steamboat was in 1993 to drag back a 1935 Chevy Standard 4 door sedan. I paid 25 bucks for it.
Now that was a great day to be Alive !! Expensive but amazing. The cars were stunning and the food was Outstanding 😍😍😍😍
Beautiful cars..!!! I had a boss in 1983 who owned a 916....only 11 manufactered..!
The show is excellent the cars were really nice but the food had my mouth watering the best I have saw on the show.
This episode may be the first time that the food segment out ranked the car segment in terms of entertainment! Exquisite!!
The 9146 in 1970 had a different Rear bumper it should be a more sharp edge on by licence plate area. The one on this is the regular chrome one from later 914s. I had same issue when I bought my 9146. I put a post on 914world and paid 900 for a perfect correct 1970 one.
How he bought this for his wife who passed for their 25th anniversary after dating in her 914. 😢
Best.Episode.Ever.
I remember riding to school in the late 1970s San Antonio TX with my two friends and their dad to school piled up in that small 914.
Fantastic, thanks for the scenery and the two cars; great job of filming.
