- Here's a recap of every book I read and the lessons or ideas I learned from each.
In 2022, I took reading a lot more seriously and shifted my focus towards western philosophy. Heading into 2023, I plan to read key figures like Hume, Kant, Hegel, and others, but will mix in some novels as well.

@@TheActiveMind1 Keep up the good work!
These are very interesting reads, thanks for sharing. As there are none in your list, I was wondering what were your thoughts on works of fiction ?
Thanks for listening! My wife is a big fiction reader but I've been primarily interested in nonfiction at the moment. I do plan on reading some classical fiction this year though
@@TheActiveMind1 Sounds good, hope you find some you like :) Since you asked in the outro, here are some of my (classical) reads from the past year - maybe one will interest you ! :
Farenheit 451 / 1984 : Catch-up on "Dystopia 101". Also read Handmaid's Tale but liked it a bit less
The Just Assassins, Albert Camus : A play on the morality of murder for a cause
Various from Kurt Vonnegut (Slaughterhouse 5, Cat's Cradle, Mother night) : unique writing style and great themes such as free will, absurdity, meaninglesness, death, PTSD...
Night Flight, Antoine de Saint-Exupery : How a cause can be greater than the self
The Pearl, John Steinbeck : Symbolism of greed (aka the cruellest story ever)
And to conclude, a non-fiction that I really liked :
The Crowd: A Study of the Popular Mind, Gustave Le Bon : Classical book on crowds and social psychology. Even though some ideas may be outdated, extremely interesting and quite innovative in 1895.
Anyway, have a good day !
@@xstorm44x Lot of great suggestions there! Camus is on my list for this year along with some Dostoevsky

Have you read St. Augustine’s Confessions? I think you would really enjoy it if you haven’t yet.

Really appreciate that! And I definitely will! It was actually a topic I had planned to film soon
I just want to be let off the hook, that's all. Unfortunately for me, no book can do that.
Even so, there's something to be said for reading a book.
I appreciate your video.
Ego is the enemy would be my favorite book of 2022!
I’ve heard good things about that one!
What a grt recommendations. Don't change yr recommendations for the sake of pleasing people, only preach what u love, only then it will feel genuine

Trying to be a cool kid like you
Dear fellow, please read Break of Day by Colette. As a woman i cannot be without it, but it does'nt matter which sex you are it is a real force....it's basically about an intense period of self-assessment in middle-aged years; semi-autobiographical, about a return to an independent life after marriage and children (who have grown up) enriched by nature which she describes with an almost scientific, microscopic, photographic visualization..
The sheer intensity and beauty of her writing in this book shines like a light bulb. It is also scattered with a gentle, wry humour. To me it's an absolute treasure especially during illness in hospital. I wish you well. 👍💕🌱 ( by the way, i like your shirt ). 🌿🌱
I'll have to check that book out!
@@TheActiveMind1 i hope you do, it's wonderful. Make sure its a Capuchin Classics publication. The best. Wishing you well. 🌱👍💜
