That hinge is what makes the step-back so dangerous because the defender is already forced back a step, and then when the baller handler pulls a step-back the defender has even more ground to recover from.

Some of the shiftiest players lean forward while dribbling because
    1. it loads your glutes and hamstring so you can explode better
    - puts center of mass in front as well
    2. ball protection (ball located in the back of the body)
Note: this is not the only way to go, some guards like Jimmy Butler plays upright and it works, so it really depends on you
    Thanks coach!

Do you think that when you're straight up, its harder for the defender to stop the jump shot, and If you're bent over its harder for them to stop the drive? Wouldn't this way make it so that you're always one extra movement ahead of the defender?

"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only son so that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16
Jesus is the only way to eternal life in heaven. So don't trust in your own goodness to save you. Transfer your trust to the savior and ask God to help you turn from your sins and you will receive God's free gift of eternal life. God loves you! Hopefully this inspired you today. God bless.

Believe in JESUS, we are all sinners deserving the wrath of GOD, because we sin against a holy and just and perfect GOD. Therefore we all deserve the punishment hell, but GOD in his rich grace and mercy by which he loved us sent JESUS to die for us on the cross to leave his throne and suffer for us. To be the perfect sacrifice for us because he himself was sinless and perfect. That if we would have a repentant heart and believe in JESUS and place our faith in Him, we will be saved from the eternal punishment which is hell, and be given eternal life. l
