When John Davis retires, I'll probably stop watching MotorWeek clips. Kinda like how I pretty much stopped watching The Price is Right when Bob retired.
Yes, unfortunately MW has branded itself too well with John Davis. This review is the perfect example - the actual reviewer is shoved to the side with John's voiceover. It isn't the best thing to do in the long run.
I love watching the MotorWeek throwbacks. Imagine showing this video to MotorWeek viewers in 1982: "Its got 707HP and goes from 0-60 in 3.5 seconds, oh and its $87,000."
Juan Villa really I'd say American cars are killing it right now the Demon, ZL1 1LE, Z07, Ford GT, Track hawk, ACR, a new ZR1 Corvette the way (mid engine hype).
My 2007 SRT8 was one of the best cars I've ever bought. I got rid of an E55 AMG to buy it. Then only did Eibach springs and swaybars with a mopar coldair system and drove it for 8 years. It wasn't perfect but still was an awesome car.
I am getting one of these next spring ! 75,400 trouble free miles on my 2015 Challenger Hellcat, best time of 10.91 with street tires..Yes,I am used to powerful ,tractionless vehicles..(I also own a 2017 Hellcat Challenger just love them high quality cars)
you put 74k on your hellcat in just 2yrs?? that's abuse. cars like that should only be driven on special occasions. and that's gonna hurt your trade in value some. in stead of 45k, i think you'll get 35k
Abuse? They're daily drivers. That was the point from the start...A seriously mean performance car that's also civilized enough for the daily driver. Besides, there's plenty of other guys barely driving theirs to make it ok for other guys to just enjoy theirs as much as possible. And given that he owns 2 of them, I doubt he cares much about losing some of the resale value. I wouldn't either.
IDK... This might have possibilities with me... Almost like having two vehicles in one... A truck/SUV and a sportscar... Doubtful you can light offroad in it, if at all...That's the only negative point about it...Still, it would be great for long cross-country highway trips, and extremely comfortable, too!
So what's the quarter mile time? I don't understand why you wouldn't run the quarter mile and report the time since you're already at the track anyway ESPECIALLY in a 707 HP vehicle.
I love mine. Red with black leather interior. Turning Radius is tight. Interior is done in leather and carbon fiber. It does have every conceivable gimmick installed. Rear heated seats anyone?? Keyless entry and auto lift gate are great. I've only been to135 mph with LOTS left to go. Sunroof / moon roof is nice. This is not junk. I will drive it as it's been designed , cautiously fast until I have a good idea on how it behaves. It is a Monster. . Faster than the Porsche 4S I traded in and has room for five with suitcases. The driveline has been throughly beefed up to handle 707 hp. This is a marquee vehicle so I doubt it will have any problems. I drive very little so my carbon footprint is lower than most every commuter. I don't feel bad that mpg is 13 city 15 highway.
Cool, I just posted my review of the Trackhawk on my channel. The MSRP of m press car was $99k but it got the power down better than the Hellcat Widebody I drove right after
Cayenne is far more refined and everything, but there is just something about this muscle flexing monster...it is THE HULK of SUV world today..love it!
now only if they can put that engine in the RAM and Durango...and a srt6 Chrysler 200s with a twin turbo v6 with 400hp would be nice to...these jeep is awsome tho you can beat a gt350r while having a trunk full of groceries and 2 friends as passengers.707 hp is awsome it can use all that power on the highway when aero and awd take a toll aswell
E Gibson actually the Jeep Grand Cherokee trackhawk can exceed 180 miles an hour. The Mustang can exceed no more than 175 for the GT350 and gt350r. So with that being said it's certainly can defeat a Mustang GT350
E Gibson I mean from a highway roll you could be right since awd and aero arent great for higher speeds and the high reving more aero body and less loss of powertrain might benefit the mustang but in a quarter mile drag race when traction is everything Or like racing from a red light to another red light the trackhawk will destroy the gt350r mostly everytime .Be an interesting highway race for sure
The 6.4 is a higher compression engine. The 5.7's can handle more boost . If I was going to build a supercharger V8 . Instead of buying a hellcat V8. I would get an eagle head 5.7 liter and probably put a twin turbo kit on it.
when I get that money i'm definetly going to but one omg that's just so awsome if I get 172k i'll buy a jeep grand cherokee trackhawk and a dodge challenger hellcat like hey 2 car garage hellcat and a trackhawk amazing
This Jeep gives you the bang for your buck. Shit I had a 2000 Tahoe limited that only put out 280 HP and got the same fuel mileage this Trackhawk gets. I know it’s not a BMW or a Porsche but like he said to get something that performs the same your going to spend pretty much double.
Could the test driver be any more emotionless and monotone? It's okay to crack a smile driving this monster around a test track, I promise we won't think any less of you.
They need to put this engine in a RAM already..Whats the hold up? It would make an awesome truck and would be cool to tow my bass boat with to the lake.
Damn! This thing has worse MPG than my 97 Grand Cherokee Limited, and that's got a 4 speed auto, 3.73 gears, and a 5.2L V8! I can bribe it to get 16mpg city/highway.
It will work fine on any trail/grass fields. Only in deep mud or rock crawling is where it has no chance. 99% of people only do light off roading anyway. Regular GCs aren't that much better...Only the Rubicon wranglers have any Real off-roading capability. This Trackhawk can hold it's own against any of the high HP competition.
DaniTheNachoPirate cheaply made? I don't think so. There's a video online of a husband and wife couple repeatedly launching their trackhawk at the drag strip over and over...and over... Constant 11.4s!!
I have not seen one... NOT ONE, on the road... smh... I guess people's excitement for it on YT did not match it with our wallets getting pulled out to cop these.
So it has taken 26 years for someone to make a SUV that can beat a GMC Typhoon. But it's a supercharged v8 not a turbo v6 and the Typhoon get better gas mileage. That seems a bit anticlimactic to me.
I think I would change the exhaust note with a borla mild exhaust kit... That millennial vape boy rice racer Bbbrrrappp bbbbbrrraaaappp noise has got to go.
What year/model??? If you owned a BMW E53 X5 no matter what year Jeep you had...it would have seemed like the MOST RELIABLE suv ever. BMW E70 X5 are still worse than ANY Jeep I've worked on/friends have owned. I have plenty of friends that have a current grand cherokee (2
John H. Davis literally talks and sounds the same now as he did 30 years ago... Thats some good job security
I remember watching him in the early 80's on PBS, I was always into cars and this was the first car review show on TV.
When John Davis retires, I'll probably stop watching MotorWeek clips. Kinda like how I pretty much stopped watching The Price is Right when Bob retired.
That's very true! I have been watching M/W from the very beginning
Thanks! I was going to type the same!!
Yes, unfortunately MW has branded itself too well with John Davis. This review is the perfect example - the actual reviewer is shoved to the side with John's voiceover. It isn't the best thing to do in the long run.
Like that drivers getup. Looks like the flinstones episode when Barney had a toothache
Or Jacob Marley in A Christmas Carol
He'sa "Goggles Paisano"!
Maybe he has mumps?
I love watching the MotorWeek throwbacks. Imagine showing this video to MotorWeek viewers in 1982: "Its got 707HP and goes from 0-60 in 3.5 seconds, oh and its $87,000."
Dodge needs a an SRT Ram version with the 6.4 they already have the Ram Rt. Chrysler is killing the game right now nothing but badass cars and trucks
Juan Villa *suggestion:* Dodge Journey SRT 6 with *a twin-turbo V6,* performance package, and a mean name similar *Hellcat*
Juan Villa really I'd say American cars are killing it right now the Demon, ZL1 1LE, Z07, Ford GT, Track hawk, ACR, a new ZR1 Corvette the way (mid engine hype).
+Michael Montgomery Agree 100%
Love my SRT Ram with the 8.3. :-p
The need an srt4 dart! There's a lot of competition in the 4 cyl turbo category right now
Definitely in the conversation for best new vehicles under $100k.
Bitcoin University should be $79,999
My 2007 SRT8 was one of the best cars I've ever bought. I got rid of an E55 AMG to buy it. Then only did Eibach springs and swaybars with a mopar coldair system and drove it for 8 years. It wasn't perfect but still was an awesome car.
Someone get Greg a proper balaclava for Christmas, please!
01trsmar You've already put 75k miles on yours? Damn, I'm at 5,500 within 3 months of owning my charger hellcat
you put 74k on your hellcat in just 2yrs?? that's abuse. cars like that should only be driven on special occasions. and that's gonna hurt your trade in value some. in stead of 45k, i think you'll get 35k

Shit my daily driver car only has 40k miles and I got it at the end of 2012. 🤔
...way to go....cars are made to enjoy.....so drive...
There’s almost no business case for this vehicle which is probably why I like it!
Family 4x4 with towpackage and all year usability
That's why WE LOVE IT !!! 😁😁😁🤣😂👍
Thank is so freaking outstanding!!
I would like a word with the guy wearing the nomex helmet liner and flannel shirt.
This is it. It is the one to have. Awesome!
I preordered it. Can't wait till it arrives!
Got mine already.
Prion I’m jealous but not hating. That’s good stuff man.
That's awesome. First time a saw a review I thought! I want one!
Prion we might order one too! What color did you choose?
where toy r us lmao
One hell of a machine!!
IDK... This might have possibilities with me... Almost like having two vehicles in one... A truck/SUV and a sportscar... That thing squats. Very fast., I like.
Imagine gut the interior then cage it and see what potential this beast will unleash
that's some bad ass headgear he has on..
Yall forgot about the 1998 5.9 grand cherokee limited. It's the grandaddy of the trackhawk
This SUV is a real beauty
The yellow brakes are an eyesore. I can't see that red/yellow combo and not think McDonald's. But holy shit, what an awesome vehicle.
Ferrari, corvette, BMW, porsche all have offered yellow calipers. If you don't get red it looks ok.....or you could just get the calipers painted.
Omg I've gotta have one
I love mine. Red with black leather interior. Turning Radius is tight. Interior is done in leather and carbon fiber. It does have every conceivable gimmick installed. Rear heated seats anyone?? Awesome! Make a RAM crew cab like this and I'm buying!
Ram TRX. Best order NOW.
Definitely bad ass!!!
america's back baby.
Cool, I just posted my review of the Trackhawk on my channel. The MSRP of m press car was $99k but it got the power down better than the Hellcat Widebody I drove right after
Liar
Easy on the spray tan!
I have absolutely no need for this, yet i want one soo badly lol
I know now SRT is exclusive to Dodge vehicles only, but I still believe it should have been called a Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT Hellcat.
This is the Carter they make an srt Grand Cherokee
Nick Kelly not any more. SRT is exclusive to Dodge now starting 2017 onwards.
They make 2018 and 2019 Jeep GC SRTs.
How is this video only at 396k views on June 24 2024 !?!?!
FCA you are awesome at fast cars. Now make a Chrysler SUV and crossover.
I swear jeep makes the best fucking cars in America.
That would be awesome :)
SRT Durango With a Hellcat engine would be badass and seat 7!
doesit go100 definitely wouldn't beat a GT350R...

American Muscle
nadeem Yousaf *italian
Nelson Davila I have a Jeep SRT 2017. SRT division was established way before the merger with Fiat.
MB ML chassis
This is an all wheel drive HELLCAT
Pretty much!
They make awd hellcats
@@ronaldreed7698 yeah, this
Why not supercharge the 6.4 instead of going down to the 6.2 and why only 2 valves instead of 4 per pot?
The 6.4 is a higher compression engine. The 5.7's can handle more boost . If I was going to build a supercharger V8 . Instead of buying a hellcat V8. I would get an eagle head 5.7 liter and probably put a twin turbo kit on it.
I would like a Dodge Caravan with a Hellcat engine in it to haul the kids around to school and their soccer games
when I get that money i'm definetly going to but one omg that's just so awsome if I get 172k i'll buy a jeep grand cherokee trackhawk and a dodge challenger hellcat like hey 2 car garage hellcat and a trackhawk amazing
this is a bad ass machine,, i need a pick up with this engine please to get me to buy a dodge
Those fancy red seats are not standard. They're part of a pricey options package.
Wow!!!
2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee DEMON !!!
Next we need a 707hp srt Durango
Is this OHV engine fuel injected?
Yes
It's biggest competition is the G wagon and this is still more bang for it's money
Intro hosted by Mr. Solar!!!
Nice vehicle, but what`s up with the Polish do-rag on that driver ??? :-)
That's part of a Fire-suit...but wearing just the face is stupid.....more Italian/russian thing than a polish.
That mpg rating will definitely hurt sales.
Its totally a German based on the Merc ML.. so it is designed to be on road
shouldn't that drive train be in the ram by now?
The RAM is coming in a few years 😁😁
It is here now lol
That's faster than the challenger widebody redeye....
Looking forward to seeing what kind of depreciation hit these take
cheapest one on ebay that does NOT have any accident record I found for 75k with over 20k miles....it's not doing that bad i expected worse.
Going through the roof in resale value,, one the Hellcat engines are discontinued they will go up even more.
13 mpg Wow..
It can only tow 7200 hundred pounds?
medevilmonkey
Frame, bearings, suspension limited to 7200
Rebecca Silverman mhm you right thanks its not meant to be a truck
wow
Could the test driver be any more emotionless and monotone? It's okay to crack a smile driving this monster around a test track, I promise we won't think any less of you.
They need to put this engine in a RAM already..Whats the hold up? It would make an awesome truck and would be cool to tow my bass boat with to the lake.
wow little less mpg than my CTSV like by 1 gal
I wonder why Chrysler doesn't use the AWD drivetrain in the Chally or Charger Hellcats? Give us an option!?
They have an AWD V6 challenger....with the Hemis there isn't enough room.
Type R for the summer, this when the snow flies
Challenger SRT Hellcat summer... this anytime. I want it in that red
Umm no. This for all 12 months
Agreed why you pick the slow car for summer lol
lol.
Dodge Demon For The Summer Eats That BS! American Style
any video to see moose test and eslalon ????????
That driver must've lost a bet.
I wish that the Dodge Durango had the Hellcat engine than the Jeep, but i am ok with this.
This comment aged well 🙂
*An auto reviewer named, "Carloss"?* 👀
MPG?
My 2000 dodge ram 4x4 with minor performance mods gets same Hwy mileage
But 400 hp less
Next the 707 hp Dart
I didn't know Oompa Loompas did car reviews?!
Work at the chocolate factory doesn't pay that much.
I would hypermile this trackhawk and get 40 mpg
Dodge Demon For The Summer
I love the trackhawk, it's like the CTS-V wagon, just should not exist, buy one now. Because you'll be paying for over sticker one in 10 years.
ILL Take one in White Please
Granite Crystal for me
Trackhawk zonder trekhaak? XD (NL lol)
Damn! This thing has worse MPG than my 97 Grand Cherokee Limited, and that's got a 4 speed auto, 3.73 gears, and a 5.2L V8! I can bribe it to get 16mpg city/highway.
Jonathan Garneau-Reid Lol, how worse?
Never mind me, posted in the wrong video lol
Wow. This thing is incredible. Even at 90-100k, these will sale.
I'll wait a year and buy this jeep at a dealer for half the price 42grand. And buy an extended warranty cause you'll need it.
loren L 42 grand eh? Maybe with 100,000 miles.
Lol good luck finding one for that price
How's that search coming along? Still in your 2004 Honda Civic?
Can’t even get an srt8 Jeep for that price. Lol. There holding value really well.
Try the moose/elk test.
Belaclava and an open face helmet....really?
I can't imagine the MPG if you actually towed a boat or camper. God forbid you towed uphill!
Amazing vehicle. My only wish is that it was actually Offroad capable, which it is not. And that is kind of sad... for a vehicle wearing a JEEP Badge.
It will work fine on any trail/grass fields. Only in deep mud or rock crawling is where it has no chance. 99% of people only do light off roading anyway. Regular GCs aren't that much better...Only the Rubicon wranglers have any Real off-roading capability. This Trackhawk can hold it's own against any of the high HP competition.
am i the only one to hate the supercharger whine? =\
Why does the driver have a jock strap wrapped around his face😂
Notice no 1/4 mile time!!!
same thing with the Demon...Why wont anyone post quarter mile numbers???
11.6 seconds
DaniTheNachoPirate cheaply made? I don't think so. There's a video online of a husband and wife couple repeatedly launching their trackhawk at the drag strip over and over...and over... Constant 11.4s!!

Agreed, that was the early days of AWD for GM and computer drivetrain control was limited. Cargo and towing was also limited.
i can't wait to get one of these in 10 years for 6-7 grand.
Greg Carlos:😐
“Son you got a panty on your head.”

I’m not sure if this dude is black or white...
Sucks in the snow.......
I don’t understand why people want cars this fast
Adrenaline junkies...same people that go on roller coasters. Also it would be a status symbol...like all people that buy expensive vehicles.
Nice head sock hahahaha
I think I would change the exhaust note with a borla mild exhaust kit... That millennial vape boy rice racer Bbbrrrappp bbbbbrrraaaappp noise has got to go.
I'd want it if I the Grand Cherokee hasn't already jaded me. Nothing but probs with that vehicle. That piece of garbage was 30k in 2001 dollars
What year/model???
If you owned a BMW E53 X5 no matter what year Jeep you had...it would have seemed like the MOST RELIABLE suv ever. BMW E70 X5 are still worse than ANY Jeep I've worked on/friends have owned.
